hello mr sultan are u talking abt this my rio which u have not seen or test driven or are u talking abt the brand rio itself,abeg lets try and be sure of wat we are saying or else we culd be tagged as "witch hunters" cos i don't see any reason why u culd claim to know wat is happening to a car dat u haven't even seen,i challenge u to come and drive dis car and do d 1000rm watever lets see.cos am very sure u don't know wat u are talking abt,as a matter of fact no one on this forum has inspected this car,the young man dat brought my notice to ur post concerning this my car is d only one dat inspected the car today and guess wat!he said u dont know wat u are talking abt.As for my other fellow who says he knows something is wrong with the car,pls and pls are u surprise with the price being too cheap, don't worry d price will be raised tmoro.(1)Dis car belongs to the church (2)we bought this car in january 2009 (3)and we bought it brand new from dana motors (4)i just supplied the church three new honda crvs 2008 models and dats the only reason why we are selling off the other 3 old cars i.e pathfinder 1999,rio kia 2008, and mitsubishi gallant 2004 model ,so why is it so difficult to understand dis.if u come and see dis car and u find any fault den say it in d house but if don't! den also say it in d house.as a matter of fact i enjoy driving dis car more dan my personal cars cos its cute and strong ,i wish i had the money to balance for this car,hopefully by Gods grace i will have it soon. tnx

Mr sultan, I Inspected this car yesterday, there is no problem with it it all, it is in perfect condition. Stop saying what u know nothing about. We have so many terrible people on nairaland, how can u comment on a car u ev not inspected Infact I am trying to raise the money to buy this car. Mr sultan just go and see the car for urself.

Why are you all picking on sultaan? He has merely raised a vital point from the photo u uploaded. It clearly shows the engine idling at 1000rpm. Cars normally idle at between 500-700rpm but yours shows 1000rpm. What I expected u to say is probably that the car was just started before the photo was taken which would be normal for a cold engine. As for the poster who says he has inspected the vehicle and is raising the money, why are u wasting time telling us how good the car is? go pay for it before someone else does. Davids202 I think your comments are rather unwarranted, Sultaan is a well respected contributor to this forum.

Whatever comes cheap must have a but, I drove this same car on sunday, engine ok but the car was once involve in an accident. If you open the driver side you will notice this on the frame. I think he should state this on the post.

I think we should put this issue to rest and put a stop to all this incivility.
When a car is started when the engine is cold, it goes into what is known as an open loop situation, for some cars the tachometer could go as high as 1200rpm to 1500rpm, until the temperature of the engine rises to the operating temperature before you get the design idling speed of the car (this is sensed by the Coolant Temperature Sensor).

So i guess this was the situation at the point in time this pics was taken.
