A statement signed by Dauda N Barau, President Federated Kurama Association (FKA) said the 2020 Akurmi Cultural day was suspended as a result of the unfortunate upsurge of the dreaded Corona Virus in the country and with particular reference to it's a trend in Kaduna State.

"We have just received a message from Kaduna State Government through the Executive Chairman of Lere Local Government that the currently recognized Akurmi people should suspend the hosting of its Cultural Day celebrations for the meantime given the current realities confronting us.
