I believe February applicants will be getting PPRs very soon (possibly next week).

Dey go soon finish January own.

I also think they are trying to wrap up earlier applications like those of December, November and October.

March, hopefully last week in May and first week in June (by God's grace)

It will end in praise.

Hi everyone, I want to submit study permit application for my sister. I heard that applicants from Nigeria can apply through NSE but I want to use the regular route because I cannot wait for six months to get mybankstatement due to time constraint. I just want to confirm if one can still apply through the regular route or if it is mandatory to apply through NSE. Thank you.

Yes, you can.

Good day house.

Please I am about to submit my application to IRCC for my undergraduate admission and I'm preparing my SOP. Please is it okay to mention in my SOP that my sibling who is graduating from the same school, Dalhousie University, this month highly recommended the school to me?

Also, please is there any tips or link for what to or what not to include in my SOP to make it a good one

50 million over 6 months?

If you've got a very big business, I understand that is achievable.

But if this has to do with lump sums along the line, it could be the reason for your refusal.

Yeah, the deed of assignment works (Get a legally approved deed of gift document). Just make sure you explain very well in your SOP. Make sure you present all the necessary documents.

It will end in praise.

(NB: Get your GCMS note first, to understand what the previous VO felt was not right with your application)

If u have a different account, u can deposit 6m into it . But remember depositor's name has to b ur mom or any siblings of URS. Then u can use ur mom or siblings as sponsor... Deposit or name and sponsor name must really but the cash has to be in your account for 5month and above. Lastly... While filling bank teller, purpose of the cash should be( study abroad)

Isnt the sole aim to get PR...

What do you mean buy "using school to move"

Please avoid telling lies or using agents you don't know very well while processing your study permit... it has ended in tears for many people oh

Its like they are dashing 5 years ban upandan

Its best you use a dollar card even if its one of those online ones like barter or flutterwave them to make your payment.

Dont put your application in the hands of someone that has nothing to lose oh... abeg don't allow someone's stupidity to scatter your life plan. 5 years ban no be joke

Also while Canada seems like the land of honey please don't even attempt to go to school if your sole purpose is to just use school to move

SCHOOL is tough.. i just did one semester ehnn and mehn its not child's play but its an amazing experience. The time difference alone for online study almost made me quit, I was usually asking myself..who sent me message oh .. but the growth kai.. amazing

also remember you can finish school in Canada now and get a great job in another country. Keep your mind and options open

Wishing everyone success in their endeavours.

Surprised! How come they did not know about it !??
NwanyiOkpa:

If the sponsor is your brother and he is married the VO will get concerned about his dependents such as wife and kids.

It is possible to get denied on grounds of finance. In fact, in my first application i did not state that my sponsor (brother) is single but in my second application, i stated that he is single and has no dependents.

No sir. The sole aim of a study permit (which is a Temporary Residency Visa) is to get an international degree which you will use to improve the situation of your home country and also your career.

If you want to move permanently, you should apply for a "Permanent Residency (PR)" via the Express Entry route.

There is a separate thread for that on nairaland here.

Please can u help me,I want to ask you some questions privately .
Spectro:
For those about to apply.

1. Write a solid SOP (Statement of Purpose). This document is very important. It should indicate the following.
- What you studied in a previous academic institution
- When you graduated
- What you did between graduation and now (were you working, where did you work, did you just graduate?)
- Please, don't write that you've been unemployed. You are either a recent graduate or have been gainfully employed.
- What course you want to study abroad
- Why you want to study that course
- Why you should not study that course here in Nigeria
- Why you opted for the Canadian University you chose
- Why you opted for Canada and not some other country
- How acquiring a degree from the Canadian University will help your situation in Nigeria.
- How acquiring a degree from the Canadian University will enable you to add value to Nigeria.
- How you will be a law-abiding visitor and good neighbor in Canada.
- What you intend to do when you return to Nigeria after your studies.
- Declaration of funds and its allocation; who is sponsoring, how will the fund be allocated (fees, transportation, accommodation), etc?

Guess you can use another identity card like drivers license, national identity card. Add birth certificate to it again.

Ketima:

Hello my fellow applicants.

Sorry about the lenghty post

I just want to chip in on this use of dealing with somebody you don't know to either help you in one financial help or the other. Or act as your agent. I know opinion may not be relevant, but is for those that really wants to know.

In 2020, I started my Canada study plans. I began by buying a book to record all my researches. YES I BOUGHT A BOOK FOR IT. Am they type don't believe that I cant do it. Even if I can't, I must try. To the point, I have a book about all the province in Canada, how many colleges and universities in each province, and also all the towns in each province lol . Until i narrowed it down to the universities I want to apply (based on cost and fast, easy immigration plans).

After that I went to study Permit process. I started with Canavisa forum, cos I didn't know then that this group existed. I had 32 gig phone, almost 5gig was screenshot of relevant info I think I may need and stored for reference when I will need them. The only info I don't get from Canadavisa forum was it will hard that get master's with 2.2, but thank God I got lucky at the last minute, i scaled through and got one.

Now when it was time for study permit, behold I came across this group when I was thinking how can a whole Nigeria not have forum for study in Canada. I found this group and boom I started my usual screenshots from the beginning. Bombarded gurus with questions and they really came to my rescue.

But then It baffled me, I met an applicant like me, we exchanged pleasantries and he is using agent. I was shocked when they Applicant knows nothing regarding Canada study permit. I mentioned upfront, for wia no idea. I mentioned NSE, for wia. No idea. All he knows was biometrics, the one he did in lekki. Tell me, why won't an agent mess him or her up, when he or she has no idea of the program (study permit) he or she just applied. My point here is, as an applicant, please is important you know all these things, so that you know when an agents tells you something contrary to what is obtainable and as well not let the useless agents hand you 5year ban on a platter of gold.

On the issue of who will help you pay tuition fee, application fee. That same guy dt wanted scam Rootiab, chatted me when I was asking questions about form A and how to go about it paying tuition. He came with promise to help me pay, I laughed and told him form A will help me pay it. If form A won't, then I will ask my relatives in Canada. So I don't need him. He never disturbed me again.

So point here is, please we have form A, make use of it for Tuition fees. Then for applications, cos of this, I had to go and open
a domiciliary account, went to aboki to exchanged at 478/dollar. Paid it into the dorm account. Mind you I have relative in Canada, but mehn I want to be sure that I did everything myself. Most of us did MMM and lost millions and didn't cry, not be to exchange dollar at 478 with aboki that will kill me for just one time payment.

In summary, let's try to do all these things by ourselves but if an agent must do it for you, please have knowledge of the whole process. cos most of all this agents are messing things up for us. As well as those yeye brothers who wants to dupe us, na God go judge una. Is only in situation that you know you can't do without the help of someone that you can gamble it. Like I recently did gamble one with a good fellow I met here, but let it be finance that you can get over with or let it not be what that can land you almighty 5year ban.

That's my own intake.

Please @ guru frank, still waiting for your final email review before I hit the summit buttons . We all shall smile to Canada in no distant time.

Ketima! Hi!

Quick one pls. Regarding funding your dorm account, how did you get the money into your account? Cos I heard that cbn policies says cash deposited on the counter to account CANNOT be transferred, rather it can only be withdrawn.

Did you get the aboki to transfer to your dorm Acc or how did you do it?.

Just write a new letter of explanation explaining the refusal and the actions previously made to correct that via webform, you can also use that avenue to tackle the other questions raised

Ok thanks, how will I tackle " the proposed studies do not seem like a reasonable expense when compared to local options".

" Document submitted submitter show some funds seem available, but there are concerns that third party funds would be sufficient and available for the whole course."

" Document submitted submitter show some funds seem available, but there are concerns that third party funds would be sufficient and available for the whole course."

This means the visa officer was not well convinced when he/she read your statement of purpose. That is one of the first documents they read to have an overall view of the applicant. It is almost the replica of having a visa interview with the VO at the US embassy. The difference with Canada is you have to document all your defence and motivations on paper.

Also, third-party funds mean the amount given to you either by parents, siblings, relatives etc. The area to look out for to re-address is your study plan (why you want to study your proposed course in Canada and not Nigeria and considering the same course available in Nigeria universities. What value would this add to you, and how relevant would that be to your plan after your studies. You might also want to speak to the current pandemic that has made it possible for students to study online without any need to travel, so you might want to address why you have to travel to Canada despite the current reality. e.g. A clue that you can address is the poor internet bandwidth, irregular power supply, the difference in time zones, as the need to have access to a more conducive environment in Canada to study.

The visa officer also has concerns with the finances- I think @Spectro has done a lot of justice in explaining how to tackle finances. I would not want to over-flog this aspect. Still, you need to revisit your SOP vis-a-vis the supporting documents you submitted to guide you in wording your letter of explanation to address the loopholes and don't forget the God factor in all these. Put it all in prayer.

All the best!

Age mid 40s
Qualifications B.Sc. Accounting (Nigeria) and M.Sc. Finance (United Kingdom)
Married with 2Kids
Currently base and working in Nigeria
Planning to relocate to either Canada or America.

Please good people of the house very new here, I'm thinking of going through study visa and have tried to research on many universities but they required GMAT for both master and PHD courses which I haven't done. I intend to study MBA or any similar course for PHD, however I’m also considering of supply chain management in any college because tuition fee is somehow considerate but it’s just one year program.

Kindly generally advise me on below questions?

Is there any other schools which they don’t consider GMAT as part of requirement and affordable?
Is there any similar program which I apply for that does not require GMAT?
Should I consider supply chain management first at least to move?
Is there any other ways or countries which I may consider to make my family quickly come over to join me?

Thanking you in advance.
