Mikel Arteta says Mesut Ozil still has a role to play at Arsenal.

The German, whose contract expires in a year’s time, is yet to play a single minute for the Gunners since the restart.
In his absence, Arsenal have won three games on the spin using a new 3-4-3 formation without the No10 role occupied by Ozil, but Arteta insists the player still has a future at Arsenal.

“Players can adapt to different systems and we can adapt systems for different players,” Arteta told Standard Sport.“Sometimes it is not just about what we want to play or how we want to play.“Sometimes we have to field the players we have available in the right moments, in the right positions, to perform and be comfortable to do what we require.“There is always a place for a player of his quality.”While Ozil may be struggling, one Arsenal player who is excelling is Bukayo Saka, who signed a new four-year contract on Wednesday.The 18-year-old has been tipped as someone who could break into Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of next summer’s European Championships.
