Nigerians can be very dull sometimes. They didn't build refinery in the 1970's, 80's, 90's or even 2000's when refinery was hugely profitable but now it has become redundant as Tesla revolutionizes battery cars, that is when everyone is now building refinery in Nigeria.

Dangote that is still building his over 200,000 bpd refinery is already 20 years late talk less of those that are still proposing to build. People should advice BUA not to waste his money in that pipedream. Nigerian businessmen have shown they're not smart all but leveraged on monopoly and government patronage to amass wealth. These men should rather be building power plants now while lobbying government to implement mass use of prepaid meters. Nigeria is a country of 200 million people but generates a measly 5000 megawatts.

Only modular refineries should be built to cover any shortfall in the interim because all these 200,000 bpd refineries they're building are nothing but White elephant projects.

Even if the world has moved on from petrol powered cars, even if building refineries is a waste of money, even if Dangote's refinery is a belated investment...our government will make sure we are held back by fire by force by making sure we continue the use of petrol cars till he gets a huge return on his investment and the 'powerful owners' of the business he's fronting for are satisfied with the profit undecided
