Very unfortunate for me today when I went to pick my beans only to see how it was all eaten by cows. I planted 1 and half basket, hoping to harvest at least 4-5 bags because of how the bean produced so well. Since the lockdown, the farmland is the only investment and achievement I have. I have invested all I saved for school during the lockdown.
All th money went in vain,
All the energy vanity.
When will this country be free from all these please?
God please save this country from this chaos and mess.
God help us.

I know how this feels, sorry about this... I had similar experience until I planted certain plants like nightshades and kenaf which are toxic to cows (once they smell it they avoid the environment) I also put animal traps and kept a no cows sign on the farm... Plant the kenaf and the nightshades around your farm to form a fencing and you'd worry less about them. Really sorry about this man.

There was this beautiful beans and guineacorn farm I used to admire whenever I was passing by near my Abuja home. Lo and behold a certain morning I couldn't recognize the farm any longer. It was like a field, cows ate up everything. I pitied the farm owner because I saw him weeding the farm a month ago. All his labour is now in vain. With all these what would motivate me to go into farming?

I was thinking about this. Though I'd rather what they'll smell and die instantly to knock some sense into the animals (that refers to those on 4 legs and 2 legs).

If cows don't eat yam, you can try again.
If not, it is better you stay and drink water under a tree, than to plant roasted yam for cows.

For the OP and any other farmers who read this familiar story of crop loss to rampaging cattle herds and their armed escorts, please check out my topic devoted to offering a peaceful, and powerful means of preventing cattle from coming anywhere near your farm, using readily available ingredients.

If you don't have time to read my entire discourse on this technique, then the summary is that COW BLOOD AND BONES, bought from the slaughter house, and HIDDEN WITH GREAT CARE around your farm, will guarantee that no cows will allow themselves to be guided towards your crop, for a month or more, by which time the cow blood may require "topping up" so as to maintain a strong enough odor.

Most significantly of all, the crop destroying cattle herds are not harmed or poisoned by that smell of cow death, but they will instantly lose their appetites upon getting close enough to your crop, to pick up the scent of that WELL HIDDEN blood, whose effect is to immediate panic and stampede cattle, which can be a joy to behold, from a safe vantage point, of course.

If a so-called national and prominent leader sees this, he'd ask:

Is Evans a herdsman?

While this is good info if it works, it may not be the solution. Some of us grow tens and hundreds of acres. How do you get cow blood for and spread throughout say 50 acres?

This issue is clearly political.
