My tears dropped after reading this piece. Who did we offend for crying out loud?

We have only succeeded in apportioning blames but truth is, we have done absolutely nothing to change the status quo??

I can't remember the last time I logged on to Nairaland that the Yorubas & Igbos are not fighting for supremacy. It's appalling that, in this 21st century we are still battling with religious and ethnic tolerance.

Nigeria cannot develop if we keep fighting each other. It's time we call a spade, a spade.

Popular Nigerian actor, Williams Uchemba, who recently got married and is taking a vacation in South Africa has taken to his verified Instagram account to state that he is sad and depressed due to the current poor state of Nigeria which stems from corruption.

[b][color=#990000]He said,

Divide South Africa into three major BLACK tribes and hundreds more.
Give them Abrahamic religions.
Make the most intellectually weakest of them to hold power.

South African will immediately become Nigeria 2.0

During the early 30's Sapele was booming and a major hot-spot for timber... After independence, everything crumbled.

The difference between Nigeria and SA is that the white men left our country.

Efewestern:

Come with another line, the cities the white men built before leaving, how many were we able to maintain?

Not until we tell ourselves the truth, we will keep running in circles.

We weren't able to maintain any because No Country run by black people can move forward .. this is just the painful truth. Our illogical greed will always inhibit our growth ... Have you ever wondered why sub Saharan Africa is the way it is?
SA was built by the white and is still run the whites... They own the lands and all the juicy jobs, they run the mines, the wineries, they run everything including tourism...That's why everywhere is rosy over there

The present system you are in now in Africa is worse than slavery.

It is better to be a slave of a white man than a slave of your fellow black. Go investigate this fact.......

You black lots have zero leadership and management quality.

SA is developed is because of the whites.

as at 1960 Nigeria did not have roads where in 2020 there are roads.
as at 1960 Nigeria did not have daycare, primary, secondary and university schools where in 2020 there are schools..
I can go on....

in summary,
the british had zero plans to improve the infrastructure, education, life e.t.c of Nigeria... which means even if Nigeria had waited until the 90s nothing would have changed.. british companies like shell, british tobacco, cadbury, e.t.c. are still sucking Nigeria dry... so Nigeria is not truly independent.

to be able to build massive infrastructure, Nigerians must create their own big companies and hire fellow Nigerians and keep the revenue in Nigeria.

the above is my comment to nedekid... below is my comment to you:
the british did not build any city in Nigeria, so there wasn't any city to maintain.. what you see around Nigeria today was built by igbos, yorubas, ijaws, hausas, fulanis, bini, efik, urhobos, itsekiris e.t.c.

it is the b:ritish that is greedy because they still own many of the biggest companies in Nigeria which takes profits back to UK and leaves Nigeria with crumbs and the ethnic nations in Nigeria still built a $400billion economy and you're saying Nigeria hasn't progressed....

Valid point! There really is something wrong with us blacks perhaps. Cos like I said in a different post almost everything nice about VI, Ikoyi, Lekki is done by Lebanese. Banana Island and Eko Atlantic are developed by foreigners. VI and Ikoyi that was left for us, we are slowly spoiling.

For fine dining cactus, shiro, hard rock, rsvp, ocean basket, craft by lou baker etc are all run by Lebanese. Where are Mr Biggs, tantaliser, sweet sensations today?

Lg is owned and run by Lebanese and they are still standing. SIMS on the other hand is a shadow of itself.

Kia and Hyundai ,Stallion motors, Honda place, Porsche place are all foreign owned. The one we know how to do is to be parking cars on sidewalks or under power lines and say we are selling cars.

There is very little in that VI that is owned and run by Nigerians that is run well.

So it seems we are just not capable of complicated reasoning and management by ourselves.

Even if Nigeria had gotten her independence in 1856, the same problem you are complaining about will still happen in 2020

For all those who know history.

Multiculturalism does not work because people will keep fighting each other instead of building their nation

Nothing but Fact.

I don't blame just the class of 1966. I blame the wrong cultural values of ethnic politics, election rigging and abuse of power.

Right from Secondary school seniors were taught to abuse their power.
The same Problem has started since, when we first founded the first Political Parties in Nigeria. The North had their own, the West had their own, and the East to had their own. No body really wanted to cooperate. I just hope we can learn from the mistake of our Fathers, after this Government.
