Why NYSC Should Not Postpone January 2021 Orientation Course by eki2000(m): 9:00pm On Dec 23, 2020 |
It is it deep gratitude that recently mobilized PCMs and parents jointly thank the management of NYSC, especially the Director General who have stood against all odds to effectively mobilise PCMs for Thier orientation course across the country. The setting of COVID-19 test centres across the NYSC camps in the federation is a very commendable act. This is to ensure that no corper that is infected is admitted into the camps. Therefore I pray the management of NYSC not to SUSPEND the January orientation course based on the issue of COVID 19 because of the following points: 1. There are test centres across the 36 NYSC Camps 2. PCMs are tested before being admitted into hostels, Therefore those positive are returned at the entrance. 3. The January batch B stream 2 is a continuation of previous 2 Batches, that's B1 and B2 4. It is pertinent for NYSC to allow this last batch to go so they can plan well for next year, 2021. 5. Some many PCMs are languishing at home and most had the last hope of leaving with January Batch. 5. Above all, the health risk can be well managed haven't Successfully mobilised 2 batches already. lt is with this view that it is believed NYSC should look appropriate into the issue of mobilising PCMs in January 5th 2021, especially as rumours are beginning to make waves. Thanks. |

They should just post Corp members to their PPA How can you gather over 1,000 people in a single camp ? Even with strict covid measures it is still a very dump idea |

Swealy:There cannot be NYSC without orientation camp. And besides the measures are working. Also no camp had upto 1,000 corpers |

I was doing Covid 19 testing as a corper in camp. I can tell you that it's not working. The rapid test they do gives a lot of false negatives the pcr test meant to confirm it takes 24 hours but in Nigeria takes 1 week. By the time pcr comes out you have a lot of people with covid in the camp already. |

MajiGruAL:You are saying this because you have done your own camping and do not care again if others do theirs. So NYSC should suspend those that wanted to go this January till further notice. Please don't be selfish in thinking, same testing method was used in the Nov/Dec batches and no corper have died of COVID-19 yet. 2 Likes |
