1. When a person dies, they urinate on themselves. This is because at the time of death, the person loses control over the muscles around the bladder, specifically the sphincter, which causes all the urine to exit the body. You never see this in Nollywood movies.

2. It takes more than just few seconds to strangle a person. Death by strangulation requires a sustained grip over the windpipe that can last over minutes, and usually the victim loses consciousness when pressure is applied to the carotid blood vessels on the neck which causes unconsciousness but not death. Only a prolonged, tight grip that causes a complete blockage of air supply to the lungs and hence a heart attack, can cause death. Usually in Nollywood you see someone strangle a person for 10 seconds and they are dead.

3. When someone is shot, the impact of the bullet sends the person falling the the ground immediately. You don't get shot and still maintain your balance while falling slowly to the ground.

4. A person that's been dead for at least one hour should show some signs that one doesn't really see in nollywood movies:
The lips become pale due to lack of circulation of blood. The finger nails and toes nails also become pale for the same reason. The face also gradually gets paler as their is no circulation of blood. I'm nollywood movie you see a corpse looking fresh like they just had a shower and eat a delicious meal.

5. You don't check whether a person is dead by lifting their hands and watching it fall "lifelessly" or by putting your head on their chest to hear their heartbeat. The human ear can't hear heartbeats, that's what a stethoscope is for. What you do is check their pulse like I've already explained.

6. When a person does and you are checking their pulse, your hands need to be on their neck or wrist for about 10 seconds to really confirm the presence of a pulse. In nollywood movies they just check pulse for 2 seconds and they are sure the person is dead.

7. When a dead person is carried on the shoulder of another person, the hands and head of the corpse flail from side to side. In every nollywood movie I've seen a corpse carried, you can clearly see the corpse consciously stiffen their heads and hands.
