Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends Club Rolls Out The Drums in Grand Style.




A Socio-Cultural Charity group known as the Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends has been inaugurated with the aim of fostering unity and peace amongst communities and kinsmen of Bomo-Ibe of Southern Ijaw Constituency Three and Olodiama Kingdom both in Bayelsa State.

At a grand ceremony which held in Yenagoa on Christmas Day, to unveil the Charitable Organisation officially to the public, The Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends, also known as: 'The Millionaires Club' saw His Royal Highness, King (Dr.) Tony Zalakoro as its Pioneer Chairman, Hon Salvation Tuesday-Vice chairman, Senior Maciver Desmond-secretary, Henry Iguniwei-treasurer, Hon Chf Jonahalu James-PRO, Chief Jeremiah Biewari, other members include; HRH Dominic Bafagha, Champion Wilson N. Seiwari, Ogbozuma Tombie, Hon Peresoudei Dickson, Mr Captain Opuofoni, General Asupa Oupele

Others also nominated for key positions in the organisation were: His Excellency, Chief David Lyon, as Grand Patron; De-Great Joshua Maciver as Patron as well as Chief Tonyekiri Biewari and His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Arikawei (ITOPO), also as patrons.

In his maiden speech to usher in the group, King (Dr.) Zalakoro charged members of 'The Millions Club' to leave up to expectations by contributing selflessly to the body in order to better the lot of Bomo-Ibe and sustain the peaceful co-existence of the thirty-seven communities in Bomo clan and over ten communities making up Olodiama.

The Chairman called on all to be at their best as the body is set to work with their Kit and kin to take the clan to greater heights and serve as a pressure group to attract more government's presence in Bomo-Ibe through advocacy.

Highlights of the ceremony was the issuing of palliatives in cash and food items of bags of rice and other condiments to the less privileged, widows, elderly and physically challenged persons in line with the objectives of the club to better the lot of indigenes of Bomo-Ibe.

Beneficiaries of the club's largesse thanked the Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends for the kind gesture and benevolence for making their 2020 Christmas worth the while through the gift tokens despite the prevailing economic challenges the year has been bedeviled with.

Choice TV gathered that, members of 'The Millionaires Club' took turns to pledge their total support to the group as they say the Bomo-Olodi Committee of Friends Club has come to stay for good.

The group also called on members of the public from Bomo and Olodiama extraction to join the body while noting that givers never lack.

Guests were entertained by the musical band of Wabu crooner Alfred Izon-Ebi also known as Junior Robert.

Also Present at the event were: HRM. King EREPAMO J. Olotu (JP) of Akamakubu Clan, Hon. Vivian Ere-Imenanagha amongst others.
