According to the Iran Economist, the history of car production in Iran dates back to about 60 years ago. When the first car produced by Iranian factories went on the production line, clear horizons were seen for this industry. Because in the same years, production cars were all among the most popular and high-quality cars that were used for a long time after the production of the first version. But the fate of the automotive industry in our country was different and its future was not supposed to reach the production of luxury and expensive cars around the world.

1. Lack of competition in the market and monopoly of the automotive industry
During the years when other countries were operating in Iran and offered different models of their cars to Iranian buyers, the competition in the Iranian market had been formed to some extent. During these years, two large automotive companies tried to sign contracts with the world's largest companies to maintain their market and offer their cars to their buyers. Buyers were also happy with this and were able to get the car they wanted at a reasonable price.

۲. Difficulty in supplying parts
Although domestic automakers have been making excuses for not producing quality cars, some issues have really reduced the quality of new products compared to older ones. One of these problems was the lack of quality original parts due to sanctions. The departure of foreign car companies from Iran did not only mean the elimination of zero-kilometer versions of their cars. Domestic companies also relied on these companies to supply raw parts for assembling cars, and the imposition of sanctions made it difficult to supply parts.

3. Support instead of monitoring
Although the traffic police have repeatedly stated that substandard cars are no longer numbered, automakers still continue to produce them. This shows that car companies have strong support that does not allow anyone to look left at them. It is a strong supporter of the government that, instead of overseeing the automakers' activities, covers up their mistakes and immediately supports the industry.

4. Lack of confidence in internal power
Although domestic knowledge is not as advanced as in other countries, knowledge-based companies have made good efforts to produce parts and solutions to increase the quality of domestic cars. But using the power of knowledge-based companies requires investment, which unfortunately car companies refuse to do. Automotive companies believe that using the plans of knowledge-based companies requires large investments and increases the cost of manufacturing automobiles. This will ultimately increase the price of cars and make buyers happy.
