Dennis Naku , Port Harcourt
Rivers State Governor , Nyesom Wike , has ordered a clampdown on illegal motor parks, mechanic shops and street trading across the State with effect from January 4 .
Wike, who gave the order in his New Year broadcast to people of the State on Thursday , also frown on the erection of kiosks along the streets and other public places.

“ Apart from constituting public nuisance , these activities and structures obstruct traffic flow and pose serious threats to public safety and security to the extent no responsible government can tolerate .

“ With the grace period over therefore , we have no other option than to order immediate clampdown and put a final stop to these illegal operations from the 4 th of January 2021 , ” he declared.

Yes, people have to survive but they shouldn't use survival to cause harm to others.

I support the relocating of those kiosks to a better place not on main roads.

Take a second look at this riot act ".. Some dirty minds are playing dirty games here; You order a clampdown against traders on Dec 31st, giving them only 4 days warning to vacate or their shops and wares will be vandalized? Folks have gone home for Christmas! Obviously, you have concluded a plan to tear down Peoples business premises so that your cult boys and hoodlums will unleash their normal looting frenzy! Some markets have been locked up already! Lagos State invented this template for dubious governors desperate to destroy igbo businesses and use looted goods as palliatives for their jobless quantity! Nyesomghosa Wikevie is on an overdrive here! Together with the sardonic looking Omehia, there seem to be no end to their pattern of mischief! This guy's have a very dangerous fixation on the Igbos! One moment they're all over the news pretending like they don't care about the Igbo man, next moment, they're propagating policies to contain the same people...

The butcher of Port Harcourt seem determined to find a way to antagonize Igbos from the SE states. He's being doing so low key for years but now, he has become very emboldened by current political trends to throw caution in the wind! Frok derisive outburst targeted at the igbos, to declaring war on Igbo communities in Rivers State, Nyesomghosa Wikevie seem to think that his sure path to Nigerias presidency can only be paved by Igbo blood! It's now time for Igbos to find a way to use Wikevie as an example to other northern slaves in the former eastern Nigeria. He should be made to pay dearly! Right now, his murderous activities at Obigbo is enough to be used to sully whatever that is left of his reputation globally. Efforts should be made to get him arrested once outside Nigeria. His presidential ambition is already in tatters! But still, he should be made to pay dearly for his crimes against humanity! That's the only way this kind of silly taunts will end quickly in the SS!

Guy, b4 u go on with the rant, let me make an observation. most of the illegal street traders are tables that appear to take up part of the road causing traffic. The tables disappear when the trader is done for the day. In other words, they are not permanent stalls that someone leaves goods inside to travel. Same with illegal motor parks. They leave the parks to load on the road causing needless traffic.
I believe these are the targets, and they don't need 1 month notice either cos they are mobile and pack up their goods at the end of each trading/driving day

Atleast you've established the salient fact that a particular people are responsible for defacing the state..Rivers state must not be allowed to be another filthy market slum...we the good people of Rivers state reject converting our planned city to chaos Never!

We support our Mr. Projects wholestically on this one...If you're not happy with the directive you're at liberty to do the needful by relocating.
