I believe giving it on higher purchase is best. plus you gotta know who you are partnering in the business with, I think that's the most important part. you will also need a legal backing/agreement with the person you are issuing d car to. Do not give room for excuses

Hello, men in the house.
I'm planning on investing some money into the danfo business world.
But,I still haven't gotten any tangible info

Candid advice needed.

Do not start this business if you are not willing to install Mini CCtv inside the bus (one facing backwards, another facing forward), and recorder.

That is the only way you can review what happened in your bus every 24hrs

Anty/brother, there are ten important things you must do to succeed in transport business:
1. Don't try it cos it wil put you in agony
2. Don't even dream of it. It's demonic venture.
3.Don't ever remember it.
4. Don't imagine starting it
5. Don't even ask for public opinion on whether to start it
6. Don't venture into it
7.Don't waste your money in transportation business
8 Don't visualize it, its a spiritual business
9.Don't go near any one encouraging you to star transport business
10. Hate with perfect hatred any one telling you you can become richer in Eko transport business.

Copy and paste this formula in your dairy
grin. You're are ment.

Transportation business is very lucrative, having done one before. It earns you money daily.

However your location (place of business) should inform your returns. In the North it's 20K per week, extreme cases 35K per week for town service but in Lagos its almost twice for a small 14 seater bus, maintenance cost should be on the driver, except for Major changes like engine...

Having said that, the main challenge is finding a reliable driver who would maintain and remit as agreed. So I will advise that you buy the vehicle, do clearance, get it road worthy and up the vehicle for a premium I.e if you spent 1 million for everything, bargain for 1.7 Million in return for a period of 1 year on the driver, this way he pays about 33K weekly for a year and the vehicle turns his. That way he sees the vehicle as his and treats it with extra care, while you make a 70% profit on the business far above 13.4% the inflammation rate in the country.

More importantly is the type of vehicle you purchase, 700K should get you a clean tokumbo with perfect engine, again here you need the help of a good mechanic and auto dealer.

As per government clearance, that's cheap and easy.

700k won't get you a tokunboh , a nigerian used maybe but definitely not a tokunbo

Nothing is impossible. I’ve run all male groups and been the only female in the group and have done well. I’m a strong female and can handle it. Nothing stresses me at all so never getting high blood pressure.

slumcat:

That will never happen. Just stay away from Danfo business if you can't drive it yourself, else you could collapse from high blood pressure.

Congratulations I wish you all the best. You a strong woman and you can do it

StacyO:

I don't know how to turn my sweet angelic voice to dracular own grin

I'll simply put a male in charge. My dad perhaps
He might be of help.

I'll simply take up the work of a CEO. Dad might actually have to turn employee for my sake now.

I think you should give it a try. A very lucrative business
The disadvantages stated here are just too much to bear alone embarassed

Regardless, I'm going into it. "wink

I will be giving you this advice with some sort of authority cos it's what I do.

firstly I should have recommended to back down on this venture because some factors are against you like you being a woman etc.

but since you are insisting and let it not be as if I am into it and now be telling you to not join.
I will simply advise with my experience.

if I were you, don't go for danfo. buy the mini shuttle. The stress of management is less. and it runs shorter distances that you can easily monitor. let's say you have a shop or office. the mini shuttle can run the streets around that vicinity with less wahala.

yes, of course the danfo drivers do tell stories but the honest truth is that those yellow buses running major roads have much likelihood of having issues with taskforce, vio, lastma, std.
in fact those forces see those yellow buses as moneybags and always find ways to catch them.

but those lastma, taskforces hardly work on the roads that mini buses ply. so in essence, if you are able to eliminate issues or stories concerning law enforcement agents that's a big win. you can equally install a tracker to your mini shuttle bus to aid too. tho is not a foolproof option. and another thing I noticed is it is easier to get a responsible driver who is even a graduate for mini buses(this is because it's not painted yellow colour) than for a yellowed colour danfo or LT.

pls ma, go for the mini bus shuttle before you regret.
btw. a tokumbo danfo is around 2.2 million
while the mini shuttle bus is about a million. don't buy the automatic gear for the mini bus rather go for the manual. it costs much sha but e get why

I know there are a lot involved in it but, I want to know roughly, the total amount of money one needs to hold on to, before venturing into the business.
With the purchase of the bus, maintenance and perhaps government clearance.
Can a million naira be able to possibly get all this things sorted out??

For a fact I won't be the one driving it, how much returns do you think the driver should drop for me everyday?

Candid advice needed.

1. Put it on hire purchase with agreement prepared by a good lawyer.

2. Or get a driver while you be the conductor for 6months to recoup your money back.

3. Don't dare give it out for daily returns irrespective of how honest the person may be or look.

3. Don't ever

Honestly,I notice they join one or two groups before partaking fully in the business.

Some load their buses before others while some load turn by turn.

It is called priority. You pay for it.

Hi... Permit me to add a few thoughts to your enquiry

1. If your choice of danfo isn't already cast in stone and iron I'll advise you go for a car and place on Hire Purchase

2. Danfo drivers are in a world of their own, including the educated ones. Trust me, you don't wanna stroll into that world as a noob armed with a newly purchased Danfo...

3. Whatever your choice of Vehicle, please place it on Hire Purchase and have a written agreement with your Driver

4. Supervision Supervision Supervision ... Make unplanned visits to see the state of your vehicle regularly. Call your driver and make him bring the vehicle to wherever you are... Downside is you may have to lose a part of the weekly remit for that week but trust me it would always be worth it.

5. Treat your driver right... Treat him like you would an employee... Ask him questions outside of work and be interested in his happiness and well being.. Not necessarily because you want to but because it buys his loyalty (very important recipe for success)

6. Then, go hard... After playing nice. Don't be hesitant to yank off the deal if the success of the venture is threatened at any point of time...

7. Transportation business is lucrative. I am open to further discussions. I wish you good luck

Thank you so much for this piece.
I really do appreciate

Funny right? I was shocked to discovered that some owners of buses in Lagos are doing the conductors of their vehicles. You have no idea how conductors swindles drivers in legos and besides you are in charge of your money. You will observe that some conductors controls their drivers. It's a good business strategy though but not for the ajebos sha.
