National Identification number NIN app, to print your NIN Slip.


The recent updates about linking National Identification Number NIN with phone number by the Nigerian Communications Commission brought about a fresh set of NIN registration in the country as well as reprinting of the e- NIN using the National Identification Management Commission NIMC mobile application. This article will clarify why and what the NIN/NIMC mobile app was introduced, it uses and other relevant informations.

What is NIN/ National ID card app

A NIN or National ID card app is a mobile application developed by the National Identification Management Commission NIMC to enable national ID card owners to be able to print a an improved version of their NIN slip with QR scan code, national e-ID card and mobile ID app version of the card that is accessible or scannable within the app. Either of the cards are all valid and usable anywhere and anytime.


What can I do with NIN app


The NIN app is used to access the your NIN card online if lost or misplaced, you can use it to retrieve your NIN number using the mobile number used to register your NIN ID.


Can I use the NIN App to register for national ID card
There is controversial questions as to if one can use the NIN mobile app to register for a new NIN card? The answer is “NO” you cannot use the NIN mobile app to register for a new national ID card. The app can only be used to access and reprint an existing NIN card slip, improved NIN slip (with QR code), national e-ID and the mobile ID app respectively.


Where to download the NIN app


NIN app for android.
The NIN android app can be downloaded on the google play store as NIMC MWS Mobile ID app for android users. can get or you can get the the NIN app on the NIMC website at www.nimcmobile.app.
NIN app for IPhone or IOS users.
The NIN iPhone app be downloaded on the apple App Store as NIMC-MobileID. for Both iPad and iPod users.


How to print my NIN slip with the NIN app


To reprint/print your NIN slip card with QR code, you can do so online by visiting www.myportal.nimc.gov.ng. Then you need to have “3” of the following details (1) your NIN number. (2) the phone number you used to register your National ID card and (3) good internet connection.
Follow the step below to print your NIN slip;

Download the app and lunch it, scroll down to I Need a PIN. As shown in the picture below.
 


The app will send an SMS message containing a one time password OTP. Input the OTP number and confirm. now you can have access to Show my ID, which allows you to view your NIN ID card that can be printable.


Difference between NIN slip and improved NIN
slip

There are no similarities between the NIN slip and the improved NIN slip. The NIN slip is the printed slip given to you at the registration point of your National ID card registration point NIMC. While the improved NIN slip is a slip available on the NIN mobile app that can only be accessible and printed by an individual with NIN user. The improved NIN comes with a QR code known as scannable bar code while the NIN slip comes with just your personal details and passport photographs without a QR code.

Difference between improved NIN slip and National e - ID card 


There are less similarities between the improved NIN slip and National e-ID card . The improved NIN comes with a QR code known as scannable bar code While the National e-I card comes as any regular ID card with the holder details with a smart chip part like an ATM card that can be used to link to your bank account. But without a QR code code as in the improved NIN Slip. But have a small part that shows your thumb print point.

Similarities between national e - ID card and Mobile ID app


The National e-ID card and the mobile ID app have a lot of similarities as both have the QR codes on it and and the thumbs print place. The only difference is just that the mobile ID app is only accessible on the app known as soft copy version while the National e-ID card can be printed and used as a hardcopy version. but the mobile ID app does not have the smart chip segment like the National e-ID card.

When will the original national ID card be out


There is no specific known date for the original release of the NIN plastic ID  card. As even those that applied during the first application of the national ID card since 2014 have not gotten theirs. But we’re anticipating soon, as the NIMC are working tirelessly to produce the original plastic ID Card to everyone that applied.
