Biko, that nonsense evil spirit of demolition that hovers around Nigerian governors should not make Ogun state Governor demolish that wonderful bridge before thunder fire him. angry

Re: Ogun: Unauthorised Flyover Bridge In Omo Forest by thundafire: 1:35pm On Jan 09, 2021
Why don't the government make sure the bridge is well built then put a close eye on it. To ensure no illegal movement of trees from the reserved forest

Check under the bridge, there could be a ritualistic den there.
I bet the bridge was built from proceeds of skull drilling.

It is okay to pull it down then since the purpose is to exploit the state

It was intended to make life easier for illegal deforestation and not for the people living around there.

Stupid Government... Why not complete the project and mount security post on the bridge.... What is essence of the much celebrated Amotekun?

When a stupid govt is elected in a democratic country, the best thing about this is that you learn the number of stupid people in that country.

You read too.

Convert it to the use of the people instead of destroying it.

It can serve other purpose.

pray that ignorance will not derail you in life. This is OMO-Forest, it is a nature conservation area. it is one of the few areas left with wild elephants and other anaimals in Nigeria. There isnt supposed to be any activity in this area, instead illegal loggers are busy felling down all the trees.

it is actually a UNESCO reserve

The State Government should support the contractor to make it up to standard and make sure it's used legitimately.

I wonder who approved the Faseun Bridge that connect Ago to Bucknor in Lagos. The pillar under it is bending and huge truck ply it daily. That bridge is a disaster waiting to happen

LOL. Bucknor, Ijegun, Isheri-Oshun area, linking to I think (Ago) Last Bus Stop, Mile 2 Area, Festac, right? Hmmn. Memories. cool

I do hear of that bridge and how it gets so waterlogged during rainy season.

You have any images of it?

They're trying to assist the government since the government does not know their duty. What government are supposed to build for them now they will put it down.
Re: Ogun: Unauthorised Flyover Bridge In Omo Forest by saajus: 1:47pm On Jan 09, 2021
It's political. So you won't connect communities because of illegal acts. Are people not transporting illegal things from Lagos to Ibadan. Why did we connect the cities?
I agree that they have to seek approval but destroying the bridge is wrong.
Re: Ogun: Unauthorised Flyover Bridge In Omo Forest by meobizy(f): 1:47pm On Jan 09, 2021
After a while you just have to wonder if our government was created to aid the people or to punish them unjustly. Humans put heads and funds together to fix a problem which existed. Although illegal, one can tell the construction is of standard. What does the government then do? Na demolition straight. Why not seize the structure, ensure it reaches completion then man it so no illegal activity can take place there? It’s better than taking things back to the Stone Age – leaving the communities to beg the state government to create the same facility it purposely destroyed. This same thought process happens in the Niger Delta with the government destroying copious amounts of semi-standard petroleum as opposed to seizing and refining it. If Satan exists then he’s a highly placed government official.

Why destroy it...

why not make better use of it and probably arrest the people involved?

Why are we good at wasting resources like this?
Why should they use illegal structure constructed by bandits and ritualist as escaped routes
The foundation might not be solid
