Brother, any serious school will indicate there scholarship offer in the Admit Letter.

This is not always the case, for some schools the timeliness for admission decision and funding decision differs.
So, it is very possible to get only admission from a well meaning school and still have funding decision pending. It all has to do with the timeline of decision for the department/school.

your definition of installment here is called payment plan..it ends every semester and u MUST PAY UP before the next semester, or else you’re not allowed to register for classes for the next semester , the irony of it is that, new semesters registration starts about a month before the end of the current one and in most cases , classes has limited capacity, so while you’re struggling with your payment plans, classes might be filled, in some cases, if the Prof refuses to open more slots for classes, u might be forced to take ESL classes just to stay on status for that semester, which also comes with a premium..

Project Description: We are seeking a graduate student to use N isotopes and molecular methods in understanding biogeochemical mechanisms of soil nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions in response to long-term conservation practices (no-tillage and cover cropping)

Position Requirements: Ideal candidates should have:
o An MS degree in soil science, ecology, environmental science, agronomy, or
related fields with experience in biogeochemical understanding of coupled soil
carbon-nitrogen-water cycling and soil greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and their
environmental and management controls
o Experience in both field measurements and laboratory incubation studies on soil
GHG fluxes
o Frequent travel to the experimental site (Jackson in west TN) to collect soil and
gas samples during the peak emission periods as dictated by management and
environmental conditions
o An ability to work independently to undertake hypothesis-driven research as well
as working in a diverse team environment
o A valid (non-probationary) US drivers’ license

Desirable Skills:
o Experience in quantifying the abundance of keystone N cycling genes
o Experience in working with N15 isotope in studying soil N cycling/N2O emissions
o Excellent verbal and writing skills
o Strong background in statistical analysis using R or SAS

PhD Graduate Assistantship – Applied Soil Physics (Washington State University)

Washington State University

A PhD assistantship is available in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at Washington State University (Pullman, WA). Come join a multi-state, funded project to improve soil health and ecosystem resilience through reducing soil compaction. Our team is combining new sensor systems and digital soil mapping to measure the impact of soil compaction on plant and soil properties across multiple cropping systems including wheat, berries, and potatoes. Results from this study will be used to develop and evaluate mitigation strategies to reduce soil compaction including on-farm trials. These positions will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of soil scientists, crop physiologists, agricultural engineers, and extension specialists. In addition to gaining field and laboratory experience, graduate students can expect mentoring and professional development opportunities for their future careers.

A PhD. Graduate Research Assistantship is available with May 2021 starting date (or earlier) to work in cropping systems management research area. The research project focuses on starter fertilizer placement and its effect on corn growth.

The Graduate Research Assistant will join a research team conducting applied agronomic research focusing on the integration of precision technology with cultural practices, (e.g. sensor-based nutrient application, targeted placement of seed/genetic traits on a landscape scale), and improving input use efficiency through management practices to enhance the economic potential and sustainability of crop production systems in South Dakota.

We are looking for a highly motivated applicant with strong interest in field plot research and enthusiasm to work and interact in a team oriented environment. The successful applicant should possess a MS degree in agronomy, crop science, soil science or related discipline. Excellent written and oral communication and time management sills is also expected.
