When Water Is Heated, Is It Still Water? by debullet(m): 1:10pm On Jan 16, 2021
Many medical personnel usually advice people to heat their water before drinking. The question is, when water has been heated is it still water? Water H2O, is made up of two molecules of hydrogen and one molecule of oxygen. It's a known fact that when water is under heat, their Is an increase in hydrogen and a suppression of oxygen. This is why during fire outbreak people die more from lack of air(oxygen) than from fire itself. This is because with increase in hydrogen, oxygen is suppressed. So when water is being heated, is it still water? It should be noted that water is a liquid, but not all liquids are water.

In chemistry, call it H²O, never call it water

When heated, it becomes a gas (water vapour) at temperature above 100°c
When water is boiled for consumption, it is done to kill psychrophilic and mesophilic micro organism that are prevalent in water, so as to attain purity and when cooled, oxygen diffuses into the water making it H20

Oga, oxygen does not diffuse into water molecule o, since oxygen never left the water molecule in the first place!
Boiling water to 100 °C does not dissociate the water molecules into its elements (hydrogen and oxygen), the heat only give some of the molecules enough kinetic energy to escape the inter-molecular attractive force that make the water!
If you're talking about the diffused oxygen in water, such as the one that is breadth by living things inside water, then that is a different thing entirely that has nothing to do with the composition of water itself.
