It is with great hope enthusiasm and passion that I make the announcements of the declaration of Igbo Province public today, in hope that our pursuit becomes a positive light in our journey of mankind.

That Igboland had taken a part that we may never wish to revert, we are looking at a new beginning for us, and to an extent our niegbours and fellow Nigerians.

In this light we made the declaration of Igbo province of Nigeria, a regional traditional democratic governments of the Igbo people of the Middle East Nigeria, we are in unison with our people across the Niger (Asaba) and the rest part of the Niger Delta like Igweocha and also our brothers in Ezza in Benue state and any other place Igbos are found, this time Igboland had to unite as the single people that we are.

In this view, we are taking our stand among nations as seen in the UK where the nations of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland has their own national identity and some level of autonomy yet all being within the UK, we are never again going to accept the divisive identity given to us, that Igboland is not equivalent to South East Nigeria and if anything at all, Igboland is in the East central Nigeria or in the middle East Nigeria.

We also wish to state from the onset that we want no trouble with anyone, that we are only working for peace and prosperity for our people and also we had taken a detailed look into the constitution of Nigeria to figure out that traditional government is recognised by the constitution and given our culture as the biggest traditional democracy in Africa, this is our brand of traditional government.

Igbo province shall be lead by a premier and the sit of the premier of the Igbo province is not quite different from the throne of the Oba of Benin, Attah of Igala, etc.

Today we call on all Igbos to embrace the new reality as it is aimed to give us a better cohesion, protection and prosperity.

We will also advise that all Igbos, should be calm on the situation of restructuring the country back to regional government, or secession, that we should chanel our energy in making Igboland work and we should allow nature to take its hold on Nigeria.

What we are saying on our stand on restructuring is that Igboland is not against it neither are we in support of it, as far as restructuring will not further restructure Igboland we may give it a consideration but we will no longer accept South East and we will also not accept Eastern Region without Asaba and all other part of Igboland included.

With all these all Igbos henceforth should chanel their energy on building Igboland, feel free as Igbo where ever you are, respect your host communities and as we also urge others who are here to respect and care about us, all Igbos should know today that they are no longer alone, and on the right circumstances, we will stand together for everyone of us. Long live Igbo province, Long Live AlaIgbo (Igboland).
