Why did you refund your client? There are reputable car dealers out there. You should have found a legit deal instead if abandoning the contract.

For him to be doing errands for fraudulent madam, he knows the woman. So holding him then he lead us to d woman would have been best option

To even believe that a woman trying to pull this kind of deep fraud eludes me.

FYI: I deal on sharp and clean used cars in Port Harcourt. And I am as transparent as a see through glass. Even as most 'car dealers' are fraudulent so as 'potential buyers' also try to defraud legit car dealers. My cars are quite cheap and affordable as well as bargaining is sacrosanct, so click on my username and see my available used cars.

N/B: Potential clients are best to do business within their locality and not outside their locality, so it can be easy for inspection before payment and not outside the locality.

She will be apprehended

For what exactly? Attempted fraud? I am not supporting her , but I don't see your case going any where. You dodged a bullet, move on.

Women tooi always thought scamming was a man’s domain?
The car seller is an accomplice with the fraud woman. He has a percentage in the fraud deal. There was this pretty and innocent looking lady who came to a petrol station to buy fuel in a 25ltr keg.I was there before her.I have already been attended to.So I was waiting for a receipt. After the female petrol attendant has attended to the pretty lady, she was going and the petrol attendant called her back and asked for money.
Petrol attendant; You never pay me money you dey go.
Customer;I don pay you.I just give you #2k.
Petrol attendant; You never pay me.Ok,where I keep the money. She was searching her pockets, but there was no money.
The Petrol attendant now turned to me and asked, bros you see when she give me money.I said I don't know.
Truth, the lady didn't pay a dime but I didn't want to interfere because most of the petrol attendants are cheats.

I was also scammed this same way on the 29th of December and I’m yet to recover from it till date . Wanted to create a thread on it to inform and educate people on this new crooked way these criminals use scamming innocent people but I was just too emotionally down to do so .

Eyah, sorry bro. Please share your experience so that other prospective buyers and sellers can apply due diligence. Pelè.

I sold my car recently. The buyer sent the money to my account via transfer from another bank. I had to send a mail to the originating bank to reconfirm if the payment was authorised by their client for which it was affirmed positive.
I am always very careful in transacting business nowadays especially for huge ticket deals. You never can tell, someone might be using stolen funds to pay you. And then law enforcement guys will just show up

Is it not the wrong person that will withdraw the money to give the scammers?

So it happened on the 22nd of January 2021.

I wanted to buy a Toyota camry 2013 for a client who already sent me some money to buy it at budget of 3.9m or 4m+ if seen. So I was in search of this car here and there. I checked all car platforms then I saw a red Camry 2012. I call the number (I had no true caller on my phone as at this time. We spoke briefly, said she will get back.

A woman later reached out to me saying we just spoke concerning the camry, that one has been sold. But I have another one at Berger. How much do you want you spend I said 3.8m even if its 011 or 012 its ok.

She said fine. Start heading for mile two. When you get there call ife 07039281760 he is my boy and he waiting for you at the office. I called. He told me to drop at UBA in Berger that he will pick me up. When I got to UBA i dropped called and he came. Then i followed him to see the car his madam said i should come and buy.

I saw the Camry it was super neat. I sent it to my client. He loved it. He just called said I should go ahead and buy it for him. I said okay.

Actually the car cost due to its grade is around 5.5million. But the person the phone who led me here the supposed madam of ife assured me not to worry that the car belongs to her and her husband and she has spoken with her husband that I can make payment to her and she will sort it out.

Meanwhile she already told the people there whom are the owners of the cars that I am just a mechanic that I came to help her confirm car and that she is the one pay. That they should let me test drive the car.
Bros you are lucky
Going with money in your account and following somone you don't know aaaah
If na kidnappers they have already completed thier mission before you get to the car port.....
And your ransom de your account
No ever make that mistake

LOL, you haven't seen where someone is scammed after paying the exact car's worth. If the woman had ask him to pay 5.5m, that doesn't stop him from being scammed. And also, it's not only Nigerians that like cheap things, that car in particular can be sold less than 3.7m in the north.

Then go to the north and buy the car then, if u will not regret buying a stolen or a car the customs will impound from u, look once u are ready to pay the right value for something u get the right result, it's because u are looking for something cheap that why u almost got scammed, if u are ready to pay 5.5m the car is all over the place and u don't need to start scouting around and going all the way to berger to buy the car

Scam is not limited to gender or status. Ignorance is what these scammers used to operate and once their victim is unaware of their tactics such becomes the prey.
