Sincerely these herdsmen are not willing to embrace ranching. The outdated story that Fulanis are normadic is a mere fabrication of a few among them who are bent on taking advantage of the President as their kinsman and supporter to perpetuate themselves on people's lands and possess them forever. If it were so that the Fulani only live in bushes, why then do we have them as governors, president, members of the HOA and owners of very large organizations? I am of the opinion once again that the C in C must have a change of heart about the attitude of his people and find a way to make them desist from their wickedness. He must get Fulani leaders in power to call the wicked ones among them to retrace their steps. It is very curious that we have not heard from the president directly over the lingering problem. As the father of the nation it is very necessary for him to clear our doubts and tell us his stand. It is not suffice to hear from Garba Shehu and Lauretta Onochie, who feed us with abracadabra stories. The C in C can compel his people to embrace ranching. If ranching is not the best practice, how then does the president have his own ranch? Herdsmen must be forced out of the forests and made to buy lands, rent lands, houses where they can be recognised among members of the society. They also must expeditiously be disarmed and made to respect human lives, including theirs. 2 Likes |

That's over 30m worth of livestock. Definitely some big northerners own those cattle. They only care about return on investment |

This is how to treat fulani herdsmen. Set up and enforce grazing laws Tiv people have been dealing with their nonsense since 1900 The fulani call the Tiv 'mun ci' because they, historically, ate their cattle when they gave it to them for safe keeping. Secure your cities |

The other day on my way to lokogoma, cows just took over the whole road and the young boy was laughing at us. Shame on our darling daddy post=98504481: 1 Like |

Why is it that anywhere these guys graze turns to a desert? There was a research that shows that cattle herds and grazing led to the desertification of the Sahara. |

Instead of getting their Rugas all over the country, herdsmen are now being impounded with their cows in nearly everywhere in the country. Men and women standing firm. |

Ordinarily, nobody is allowed to carry arms. Some people from another part of the country were seeing displaying arms easily and nobody cares even the government. I have said it severally that people should be allowed to carry guns and defend themselves. It has become individual priority now to safe your life and this can not be achieved without going about with guns. Federal and state governments, Senate and house of representatives should try as much as possible to legalize the use of guns. This is the only thing that can dowse the tension. |

Police will arrest you when they see you with guns but left Fulanis to carry guns around without harassment in the same county |

Cantonese: I joined this online Nairaland forum 15 years ago in 2005, shortly after its inception, and in all those years of reading opinions here, THIS TOPIC is the single most uplifting discussion I have encountered, bar none. I have clicked the "like" button after reading virtually ALL of the opinions expressed by fellow Nairaland readers responding to this phenomenally POSITIVE news emanating from the once-conquered state of Benue, Nigeria. Oga Cantonese, your writing suggests to me that you are a seasoned trial lawyer by profession, though I may be wrong in this presumption, which formed in my mind as I read through your dispassionate, logical, practical, unbiased, and thoughtfully worded opinion, written by your learned self as an expression of support for the notion of embracing modernity by FORCING Fulani terrorist cow herdsmen and their shadowy employers, to buy land for enclosed ranching operations, and more importantly, STOP that insidious so-called "nomadic tradition" that has now evolved in a convenient euphemism actually referring to the armed theft of landed property and agricultural harvest by marauding Fulani terrorist swarms. I commot cap for you Oga Cantonese. Nigeria is gifted with a veritable generation of deep-thinking, cerebral, erudite and articulate scholars wielding formidable intellect, who are capable of seeing right through all the myriad crude pretenses that characterize systemic injustice, in order to proffer peaceful SOLUTIONS squarely addressing such genocidal travesties of justice for what they are - terroristic land acquisition by West Africa's greedy, invasive and fast-breeding Fulani tribe. 2 Likes |

*FULANIS LAND GRABBING AND BLOOD SUCKING MISSION.* If there's war, can Fulanis of less than 3million at the most, contain all these groups, on different theatres, all at the same time? If the Hausas join in the fray, to redress age long domination, will that not amount to a chokehold on the Fulanis?! Have the Fulanis forgotten so quickly their shameful defeat in the Central African Republic (CAR)?! The wise ones amongst them had better call them to order, lest they go into extinction! "*Food for thought* #Fulanis Is the only ethnic group in Nigeria that is at war with the: ✓Eggons of Nassarawa ✓The Tivs of Benue ✓The Idomas of Agatu ✓The Beroms of the Plateau ✓The Adaras of southern kaduna ✓The mumuyes & jukuns on the mambilla ✓The Hausas of Zamfara ✓The Igbos of the South East ✓Now the Yorubas of South West! When people point this out, they call it Ethnic profiling. Why should almost every tribe have problem with just you?" 2 Likes |

Even the cows look so wasted bc of useless long distant journeys. Put them in a ranch, conserve their energy, make them fat, and get more gain. I wonder how this is hard, They say is a way of life. And they say no amenities. Fg shud hire teachers that shud be nomads as well. The matter is really difficult. I don't envy the next president |
