We from the North are quite aware that the late Ojukwu was and is a Hero. He fought for the emancipation of his people from injustice and nepotism. The grouse that we had with the ibos was the fact that the coup of 1967 cleared the northern leaders and General Ironsi was installed as the CinC. This seemed like a planned op. so fire had to be returned. 1 Like |

Isn’t cowardice used to describe a person that is incapable of holding his own. That is, one who doesn’t fight for what’s his etc? He fought when it was needed. That cannot be used to describe Ojukwu. He stood for something. Sacrifice/ effort he made are profoundly unmatched to this day. As hard as it may be for some to admit, Ojukwu’s action are typical of what heroes are known for. Nigerians, swallow your pride and admit that Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu is a hero. NO ONE CAN FILL HIS SHOES AS IT STANDS IN THE NIGERIA OF TODAY. Not a certain Igboho of a man. 1 Like 1 Share |

If Nigeria dares tell its history as it is, Ojukwu will be revered by many across ethnic divide. 1 Like 1 Share |

ihateniggov1:Rubbish, injustice & nepotism against Igbos in 1966, or more of greed for power by some rascal ipob elements? Easterners & Northerners were the ruling party, the Yorubas were the opposition, so where did the injustice occur? |

Biafrawemove:Please tell me the coward tribe begging for reconstruction today? Hausa, or Yoruba? Ojukwu was a Judas Goat that ran away, only to come back to Nigeria 20 years after to marry a Miss Nigeria, not a Miss Biafra, I guess that shows how much he detested Nigeria? |

A child soldier helps his wounded colleague during the Nigerian-Biafran civil war, 1968. Ojukwu used children as soldiers during the war but prominent Igbos like Nnamdi Azikiwe and Jaja Wachuku chided him for it and asked him to stand down to save other lives left.
