Sex And Money is now the order of the Day, one of the main catalyst that triggered the SMAN (Stingy Men Association Of Nigeria) And It's counterpart called SWAN (Stingy Women Association Of Nigeria) in which their logo depicts, men folding their hands as to not to give, And women crossing their legs as to not to open. These two scenarios clearly explained to us what people now see as the new normal and absolutely not normal in the real sense. Practically speaking, we see these things happens on daily basis only that they take different shapes and pattern, for instance: before a guy may choose to render help to a girl, he may start requesting for Sex, why the girls on the other hand, may request for Money. Though notwithstanding, Sex and Money has been a lingering menace in our society right from time immemorial just that as at then, there was a little decency and shame around it, but unfortunately...these days, is now like a norm, worse case scenario, is common everywhere and a great percent of Us are guilty of it. However, our last resort that ought to be in Our religious gatherings and affiliations has failed us woefully to the extent that: Preachers now threaten the followers that if you're not paying your tithe, you will Die, while preaching regarding salvation is now kept on the low, most times, not even mentioned, tales of some self acclaimed MEN OF God now sleep with their members wives under the guise of untold miracles and efficacy of the anointing...same story goes on and on.....then, someone will ask: if the Church/Mosque can't help us, where then can we seek help, the secular world that has corrupted us to our bone marrow!!!
On TV, Radio and internet/media, all now promote nudity, sex and get rich quick syndrome... But the truth remains that, the aforementioned can never give us everlasting peace, and happiness, they are just ephemeral. Many wonder why the rate of these menace is on the increase, are you still asking, when it has turned to the new order. It will interest you to know that nobody on Earth nowadays that has access to the internet that haven't consciously or unconsciously engage in pornography, you know why? Almost every sites you now visit on the internet redirect you to a porn site or has an add-on that depicts nudity/pornography because it seems to be the easiest way to make money and trend.
I am not writing this piece as a saint amongst sinners but as a sinner amongst saints....We all are quilty of these menace, All of Us.... directly or indirectly.
Here is what prompted me to drop this piece: in two days time, we will be celebrating the day set aside for St. Valentine of which, 70percent of the world population choose not to know what the young man stood for,
What he fought for and the reason why the title Saint was attached to his name, for those of us that know, why can't we practice what we preach, and inturn transform others, and To those of us that doesn't know, listen and listen good, read, digest and let it sink: Valentine was a young man that lived during Emperor (King) Claudius who suggested that able bodied men should be recruited into Army, and not use their strength for raising just family, that is, he was against young men getting married, so Valentine on the other hand, A Roman Catholic Priest Was busy conducting Holy Matrimony in secret for these supposed young men which was clearly against the emperor's order, and he was killed because of it.....a brief and concise history surrounding Valentine, and few years after, the church in her wisdom canonized him as a saint for what he clearly stood for, and because he was fearless haven't known the penalty of such action, and by extension, the church sees it as obeying the commands of God about; go into the world and multiply, fill the ends of the earth and have dominion over it.
Unfortunately, the world we are today is that: we now present Christian holidays/celebrations at the surface as Holy, but in secret engage in dirty adventures, as seen during Easter/Christmas Seasons, people now see it as an avenue to explore their sexual prowess, engage in all manners of dastard acts, like getting money by all means to show off, sleeping around with every Tom, Dick and Harry.
And the worst atmosphere is that you can't advise anyone, because you will be labelled a judge, and Besides, how can you even correct when you yourself is quilty of same altrocity. The situation is quite pathetic I must say!!! Everybody in one way or the other are now motivational speakers and writers yet we are still where we are....All because we all are hypocrites and hardly practice what we preach...
So Valentine's Day is a day to express and commemorate What St. Valentine Stood for: Which is Undying Love For human race without selfish motives...the contrasting events that takes place on this very day and date across the globe is disheartening and ungodly, things like: betrayal, loss of virginity, indecency of different shades and styles, lies and heartbreaks, which is clearly against what the founder stood for.
