Moderators, how do you handle this situation . . . . . If you have updated 1 thread for the day, 3 Ads for the day.
And a potential buyer requested information on another thread?
do you ingnore till the next day? knowing fully well, it is all about them
Do you respond and have the thread moved to bulk section?

Soon after, the Hon. Inspired replied as follows:

24 Hours is Not too Late to respond to a Potential Buyer Who bumps the 4th thread,

We are trying to Break the Monopoly Of few sellers dominating the Front page.

Any Buyer that is in a Rush to get a reply Would either Send an Email or Place a Phone Call to the Seller.

Usually, a Genuine Business man would not be Online 24 hours of the day to reply to all inquiries right away and 15 Posts Per 24 hours is Fair Enough,

It is clear that by this rule, the moderators are trying to stop dishonest dealers from making phony inquiries and replies on their own ads. But this has the un-intended consequence of punishing the good along with the bad. We should not punish the just for the sins of the un-just.

Dealers should be allowed to respond promptly to customer inquiries as soon as they make them. In this internet age, 24 hours is too long a time for a customer to wait for an answer to a simple inquiry. What we should do is keep a watchful eye for dealers intent on staying on the front page by making fake inquiries on their own ads. Piedpiper was vigilante enough to catch one of them recently.

We do not want the auto section to turn into a Police state where people snitch on each other. But if dealers refuse to act in a civilized manner, we may be forced to do just that. As I said before, I know at least one dealer who uses two user names to post 6 ads everyday. Others may have similar information. So far, nobody is complaining (at least not publicly). But if it gets out of hand, we should.
