Our attention has been drawn to a story circulating on social media on the platform of opera news(a tabloid renowned for its sleazy reputation).Normally we will not dignify such a tabloid with a response as It’s obvious the story is aimed at discrediting the minister and its clearly sponsored by agents of destabilization jealous of his emergence as the champion of the youth since his appointment as minister, but it’s important to set the record straight.Though, sometimes it’s best to ignore crass journalism such as this, it is pertinent to ask the writer why he inserted the honorable minister’s name against the ethics of his profession,i.e if at all the writer is a journalist or a social media blogger with attention deficit disorder.A cursory look at the story will reveal that no where in the dud document was the minister’s name mentioned as having received any amount of money.This minister remains a bright and shining example in his quest to improve and ad value to the lives of the youth through sports.Social and print media is now a tool in the hands of faceless and sponsored goons employed by jobless individuals bent on tarnishing the Honourable minister’s spotless image built and earned over decades. He remains undeterred and focused on the task at hand which is primarily to enhance and elevate the youth by creating opportunities for them to excel through sports and other vocations . This publication is not only malicious but aimed at causing disaffection between the minister and his base of teaming supporters,constituting the youth who he owes his mandate.Needless to remind the writer that they are very happy with his strides in such a short time of being in the saddle.is important to note that social media is now a tool employed by arm chair and pseudo journalists and Nigerians must be weary.
