“Police operatives attached to Surulere Division have arrested one Peter Arinola @ Empire Area, Surulere, with an English Pistol while he was negotiating and harassing a lady for sex.

“The suspect was said to have used the pistol to intimidate the lady to agree to his terms and the amount he wanted to pay, but the lady insisted on certain amount of money. Peter brought out the pistol and wanted to force the lady to sex forcing the lady to raised alarm.

“Peter was overpowered and arrested by the people around the brothel.

“Police investigation revealed that Arinola used to assist an armed robber to keep the pistol for operations. 5 rounds of ammunition have been recovered during the course of police investigation,” the statement read.

Police in Lagos have arrested a man in Surulere area for harassing a sex worker with a gun, Igbere TV reports.

A statement posted to Twitter by the Rapid Response Squad on Sunday night said the suspect Peter Arinola attempted to force the woman to agree to his terms.

It was gathered, according to the police, that Mr Arinola used to keep the gun for an unnamed suspected armed robber.

It further said the commissioner of police Hakeem Odumosu had ordered that the owner of the pistol and suspected armed robber, who is at large, be apprehended and brought to book.
