In no particular order, here are the cheapest federal universities in Nigeria 2021 :

1. Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB)
Funaab, as it is popularly called is one of the three universities of agriculture in Nigeria, the other being in Makurdi (Benue State) and Umudike (Abia State). The university started at its mini-campus in Isale-Igbein in the heart of Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State. Known for its rapid academic calendar, Funaab has always scored high on the list of best universities in Nigeria every year.

Apart from its educational attainments, this great institution is also one of the cheapest federal institution to enroll in this year. Tution fees in Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta ranges from N18,250 to N33,000 only.

2. Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)
Having the status of being the best Federal University in Northern Nigeria is ABU. The institution has since maintained her excellent status and undoubtly scores well as one of the best schools you can find in the country. What is really surprising is that this very prestigious university takes very cheap as school fees.

The institution situated in the heart of Kaduna state has her school fees ranging from N14,000 – N45,000.

3. University of Ibadan (UI)
Established in 1948, the University of Ibadan, UI as it is fondly referred to, is the first University in Nigeria. Until 1962 when it became a full-fledged independent University, it was a College of the University of London in a special relationship scheme.

The institution boosts as the university with the most number of professors in West Africa and the most sought after institution according to UTME. Its tution fees ranges from N20,000 – N45,000.


4. University of Benin (UNIBEN)
The Great University of Benin – also known as UNIBEN – is one of Nigeria’s first generation federal universities. The University of Benin was founded in 1970. It started as an Institute of Technology and was accorded the status of a full-fledged University by National Universities Commission (NUC) on 1 July 1971.

The school also has a good social life with Unilag and some few other schools boasting of similar social-academic lifestyle. The university is also on of the most affordable in terms of school fees. Her school fees ranges from N14,000 – N50,000.
