I saw another video different from this on ticktock the Nigerian soldier was using digger and hand. The other soldiers stayed far away dey praise am. Eventually, he brought the thing out and disconnected it.

During GEJ time na so policeman wan do the same thing for North. The moment he touch am the tin exploded and in a twinkle of an eye, na im pieces dey group.

Our soldiers have recovered and detonated uncountable numbers of IED/mines in various areas in the North East. I've never heard of any incident where there's casualties or injuries in the process of removing them. The NA Engineers actually train soldiers in performing these tasks. Even with little kits or equipment, our soldiers perform the job wonderfully. May God continue to bless our soldiers and keep them safe. Well done guys!.

You can't fear for your life more than he was at that moment.So if any measure needs to be taken, you can be sure he won't skip any.
Also, handling such explosive is so delicate that it is done with hands sometimes.
You don't expect him to start using digger and a shovel on an IED.
