‘Don’t Be Cowards, Always Stand and Confront Bandits’, Defence Minister Tells Nigerians


The Minister of Defence, Maj- Gen. Bashir Magashi (retd) on Wednesday sent out a message to Nigerians on how to stop kidnappers and other criminal elements in the country.


General Magashi said Nigerians must always “stand and face them (bandits).”



While reacting to the news of the killing of a student and abduction of 27 of his colleagues from a government college in Niger State, Magashi said; “Is it (security issue) the responsibility of the military alone? We shouldn’t be cowards,”



He said it was a thing of surprise to him that Nigerians often took to their heels on hearing gunshots fired by bandits who sometimes strike with only three rounds of ammunition.

Let the government legalize firearms. Simple

If he’s telling us to stop being cowards I’ll also tell him to stop being a clown.

The problem we have in Nigeria

Is that we have very very STUPID people at the helm of affairs

Allow us to carry guns and we will not just confront then we will end them

The government is responsible for security, a minister of defence saying this is gross incompetence and should step down.
So is he asking we fight people holding guns with woods/sticks. Is he indirectly legalizing arms.

We do not prayers in Nigeria anymore but action to unseat all these unqualified elements.
