Buhari and his northern co-criminals are the terrorists and bandits. Their stupid Islamic fundamentalist leaders are propagators of hate speech and divisions. So, nigeria is about to divide, courtesy of the northern elites and their foot soldiers. My problem is that southern leaders don't care and have refused to get sense. |

The fun fact about this thread is that Nigerians are busy defending their own criminals.... The whole amnesty things started with amnesty for the Niger Delta criminals, now everyone wants their own cut of the cake...Northerners inclusinve. When the truth is, all of t hem...ND milltants, Boko, ESN, Bandits...should be in JAIL. With hard labour. The t ruth also is all our polticans too should be held accountable for allowing these crisis to get to the stage to where it is. But here we are. We are now in the position of giving Northern bandits amnesty (and it is sad Sheik Gumi is in the forefront...I thought he was better than that)...because ten years ago, we gave Niger Delta bandits amnesty. Which some of them have used to cash out. Well, before anyone calls me a fulani slave, I am not. All I know is that if governments past and present had been serious about developing Nigeria, and about putting us to work, instead of building a myth about there being enough money for all of us to share, maybe we won't have been in this position. It is sad Nigerians are backing ESN, BOKO, BANDITS, ND militants, Igboho, killer herdsmen e tc. Even on this site people were backing Gana of Benue because he was supposedly killing herdsmen, meanwhile he was also kidnapping and killing his own people...but hey, he also kills fulanis so he is a hero..... And so on.. When they should all be in JAIL.They should all recoieve no kobo. But with the kind of parties and people we vote into power....and with our refusal to pay taxes to properly fund our armed forces beyond where they are at now... |

thebosstrevor1: I am not in support of any armed militia, be it ESN, Amotekun, ipob, hisbah, etc but the America you quote have what is called boarder militia. They are armed to the teeth, conduct military excersices and patrol the boarders between Us & Mexico. The government is against them, they are being arrested but you will never hear America use gunships on its citizens! Two of the biggest militia incidents in recent years were the Bunkerville standoff - when militia ran federal officials off a rancher's land, believing the government was there to seize cattle - and a similar standoff in Oregon, where militia took over a wildlife refuge in protest of government "interference" in ranchers' lives. Before calling out other countries, try research first. No country is without internal conflicts & challenges. Its how they are handled that matters. 1 Like |

https://ireporteronline.com.ng/insecurity-criminals-are-cashing-out-while-nigerians-are-busy-debating-along-ethnic-and-religious-lines/ Insecurity: Criminals Are Cashing Out While Nigerians Are Busy Debating Along Ethnic And Religious Lines. The most worrisome development in Nigeria today is the insecurity tearing the Nation apart. It is so perturbing that Nigerians are asking themselves “How Did We Get Here?” This question indeed needs explanations from each and every one of us, How did we get here? What a golden question, how did we find ourselves in such a terrible state that criminality is now the order of the day, and instead of Nigerians rejecting it outrightly they are busy turning the security challenges into ethnic and religious crises. I find it funny that from the Federal Government through to the local government and the citizens governed hypocrisy seems to be the routine as regards the distressing security situation in the country today. Who is a criminal? A person who has committed a crime. Who is a bandit? A robber or outlaw belonging to a gang and typically operating in an isolated or lawless area. Who is a terrorist? A person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. Who is an insurgent? A person who revolts against civil authority or an established government. With these few definitions from Wikipedia one fact is established, all of the above terms are outlawed and an act of criminality. So what are the issues? So why in some cases are the Federal and State governments romancing these criminals? What is the yardstick used in romancing known acts of crime? A man in possession of an unlicensed gun is by default a criminal, and the law has adequate measures to handle criminals in whatever category of crime committed. The issue of Fulani herdsmen and killer herdsmen ordinarily should not be a worrisome development if the Government, the people, and the security agents are non-partisan in their approach in fighting this menace. Unfortunately, society and the government have tactically endorsed the unlawful acts of these criminals whether herders or bandits or whatever name you wish to describe them. For example, a Governor comes public to defend Herders who carry AK 47 in protecting their cows. When in the first place only criminals can have access to AK 47. How did the herder have in his possession a dangerous and lethal weapon of mass destruction? If the cows are too precious to be protected with an AK 47 what then stops the owner of his cattle in seeking the protection of mobile armed policemen to guide their most prized cattle? After all, bankers hire the services of armed security personals to secure their banks. Is it legal for me to have in possession an array of AK 47’s because I want to secure my Hotel from Armed Robbers? What experience do these herders have in handling such dangerous weapons? Are they certified? Do they have the right temperament to use arms? Why should an investor put his investment in troubled spots? If the herders claim they carry weapons about to protect their cattle then whose fault is it? Why should the investor take his cattle to an unfriendly terrain thereby putting the lives of the cattle and the herders at risk? What happened to the admonition that prevention is better than cure? Suffice me to say that a herder in possession of illegal firearms is already guilty of a crime that makes him a criminal, so why are we debating or taking sides with a criminal under whatever guise? If the people and government treat the possession of illegal firearms by herders according to the dictate of the law by now I think the genuine herders must have since been differentiated from the killer herdsmen. The irony of the whole matter is that the guns are even products of the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies which means people died for that gun to change ownership. (which is a heinous crime) Moving away from the herders to the open negotiation of bandits with State Governments only shows how hypocritical we are in Nigeria. Today the whole of the North is a war-torn zone with insurgents and bandits taking 0ver, States like Niger and Kaduna that have vowed not to negotiate with these criminals are already facing the heat. Anyway if we say we are in search of criminals threatening the unity of our country and yet we see religious leaders and governors granting an audience with these insurgents brandishing RPGs and other sophisticated weapons that even our security operatives lack then what more criminals are we looking for? Or is it that the criminals we seek are more sophisticated than the ones we are seeing with well-fortified weapons already? Then the most worrisome issue is the people themselves are politicizing the obvious lacuna on the part of the government and security agencies. Why should Miyetti Allah for example be defending its members found with firearms? Have you imagined if every Igbo man at Alaba carries an AK 47 to shop because of the huge value of his goods how chaotic the country would be? Or are these cattle billionaire owners aware that a single phone could cost four times the amount of one cattle that they cherish like Gold? Na be say like dis so na plenty AK 47’s suppose dey under the possession of that shop owner with over 100 iPhone 12 pro max? Or the Yoruba wig seller that has products worth over 200 million in her shop? Miyetti Allah should stop defending criminals with weapons , if they need protection they should take the services of armed military personnel to guide their cow since they can not ranch the troublesome cattle. All these politicians hiding under the canopy of amnesty and negotiations should stop defending their people neck-deep in banditry. Why should any sane human being associate with insurgent that has murdered hundreds of people and kidnapped many others, what is the foundation of their relationship? The local indigents themselves should give up these criminals within their communities and stop justifying their criminal acts with irrelevant talks like the Niger Delta Militants were granted amnesty so they see no reason why the same bandits that kill and terrorize them should not be pampered. Are we not wise enough to see that these criminals are cashing out big time and yet the country is busy politicizing insecurity? Criminality must be treated for what it is without a single coloration of ethnic or religious bias. Today northern governors are negotiating billions on behalf of terrorists while the rest of us are busy trading blames. The question remains, who do us like this? Na how we take reach here? Today criminality is idolized because the government and the relevant agencies are helpless and failed to perform their statutory duties of dealing decisively with criminals whether individually or collectively. May God help us all. Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah writes in from Abuja. Source iReporteronline. |

Memphis357: It is already in the South bro, Oyo, Ondo Ekiti and Ogun States. They are not coming as Boko Haram but as Fulani Herdsmen and Bandits. wonder why they are trying so much to get a foothold in Ogun State reserve? Cos their target is Lagos, they know very well that there are no forest in Lagos State so Ogun being the nearest will be used as a base. They will use the attack and retreat method. 1 Like |
