There are some English sentences we make in Nigeria that are incorrect.Hence, Knowing the correct sentences will be most beneficial to the reader.Below, are the common mistakes we make and their correct versions.See the statements below:
1.Wrong:The woman is under pregnancy.
Right: The woman is pregnant.
2.Wrong:The man gave a good lecture to the masses.
Right:The man delivered a good lecture to the masses.
3.Wrong:He is my senior brother.
Right:He is my elder brother.
4.Wrong:I want to cut my hair(barber my hair), I need a good barber.
Right:I want to have a haircut, I need a good barber.
5.Wrong:He delivered the speech without mixing words.
Right:He delivered the speech without mincing words.
6.Wrong:He drew the periodic table off head.
Right:He drew the periodic table offhand.
7.Wrong:She is my junior sister.
Right:She is my younger sister.
8.Wrong:You don't know how to hide secrets.
Right:You don't know how to keep secrets.
9.Wrong:She is the last born of my family.
Right:She is the last child of my family.
10.Wrong:We seriously need to hire a gate man.
Right:We seriously need to hire a gate keeper.
11.Wrong:Call a meeting of the shareholders.
Right:Summon a meeting of the shareholders.
12.Wrong:You guys are enjoying.
Right:You guys are enjoying yourselves.
13.Wrong:He had a very fatal injury.
Right: He had a serious injury.
14.Wrong:My is leg paining me.
Right:My leg is hurting me.
15.Wrong:I will give you the book next tomorrow.
Right:I will give you the book the day after tomorrow.

Your number 6 is wrong. There's nothing like
Offhand or offhead.
The right expression is " by heart".


The grammar in number 14 "my leg is hurting me" is also wrong. You shouldn't use "me" again after starting the sentence with "my".

It's either you say:
My leg Hurts or my leg is hurting.

Despite the possible corrections, OP still made a mistake in 14.

English na patch patch language, even in Britain, people from different regions speak it differently, though that under pregnancy one off me.
