Episode 15:


 

She dragged me out of my seat and got to a door. She punched in the password and the door slid open. We walked into what looked like a VVIP suite in a five star hotel. There was a beautiful flight attendant who appeared to be waiting for us.

 

A glamorous curved sofa with lacquered wood veneer detailing sweeps through this lavish jet interior!

 

Large screens were plastered on the walls in between the round windows one of which was pinpointing the position of the jet while the other had a landscape wallpaper displayed on the screen.

Everything in here had buttons. I dared not touch a thing as I quickly stuck my hands into my pocket.

 

Just when I thought were in the best part of the jet, she nudges me to follow her as the flight attendant leads the way to another compartment.

 

The next compartment had twin seats facing we each on the right side of the jet which gave you a nice view of the beautiful sunshine and clouds outside.

 

We sat down opposite each other. The table was already set with plates,cutlery, napkins, champagne glasses, the menu was folded and wrapped up like a scroll and freshly picked flowers. I could see my face on the expensive glass table before me.

In no time, our food and wine was served. As we ate with a lot of chatter.

We finished eating the expensive food and Marie jumped on my laps again.

This time the kissing was gentle and intense making my body twitch. I squeezed her super soft butt as she kept moaning.

 

She took of my top and threw it on the next seat. With her approval, I also took off her top. (She wasn't wearing anything under) I fondled them like I was afraid and she shut her eyes tight throwing her head back. I brought my mouth closer, closer and closer. Shoot!!!the pilot announced on the intercom for us to prepare for landing. Kill Joy!

 

We grumbled as she returned to her seat helping me with my seatbelt before fastening hers on.

I was really surprised. We were in Abuja in a manner of minutes.

 

Who said money isn't good. I squeezed Marie's hand tight as I felt the plane descending.My palms were getting moist out of fright.

 

The plane finally got to a halt. We got out hand in hand. We were in the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport which translates to lots of people and planes both commercial and private.

 

We were welcomed by Marie's father's drivers and security men who led us to the car and immediately drove out of the airport.

'Where are we going this time?' I asked curiously as I looked at her beautiful face.

 

'somewhere nice!' was all she said with a smile as her palms caressed my hips and her head rested on my shoulder. This girl was making my heart skip so much that I might have a heart attack.

 

She told the driver to stop at the closest mall which he did.
We got into the mall with the security men in front, beside and behind us.

'Lets get you a suit. We're going to meet someone.' She said with a childish giggle as she dragged me along.

I didn't need further clarification, we were going to meet her dad. I'm so dead today!!

Fast forward to 9 in the evening:
We were already back home. I took off my suit and fell onto the bed in the gateman's room.

 

I was just so excited about everything that happened today. From taking my first flight in a luxury jet, doing naughty stuff on the flight, to meeting with Marie's father and lying to the man that I'm working in the technical unit of some big company. (It was all Marie's idea. We couldn't tell him that I was just an ordinary gateman.)

 

He liked me because I appeared to be a responsible person and I am the first guy her daughter has ever introduced to him.(Woah)

This is happening so fast. It's getting clearer to me that I'm walking on eggshells here. I rolled over and lay on my stomach as I fell asleep having the sweetest and craziest dreams ever.

Marie's POV

The next morning, I woke up with a great level of happiness.
I introduced Francis to my dad and he is okay with me being with him. (Too bad we had to lie to him)

And we did some crazy things on the flight. Too bad I slept all through the return flight.

I sighed in relief as I roll out of bed and head for the bathroom.



I finished eating breakfast and quickly went back to my room where I called Victoria to find out how the surgery went. I totally forgot to call her the previous dayas I was too busy with her pretty brother. (smiles)



The surgery was successful and her mother was stable.(Thank God) I told her I would pay a visit to the hospital with Francis later the next day but it was going to be a surprise for Francis.



Francis and I spent a lot of time at the pool throughout the day as we kept talking about the previous day's trip and his encounter with my dad and I also tried teaching him how to swim.



He was not able to learn much as he spent much of the time drooling at the sight of me in a swim suit while I on the other hand kept fiddling with his hot bare chest.

We've kissed like a million times already today and we can't still seem to get enough of each other.



We got out of the water and lay side by side on the two seater nordsee strandkorb by the pool as we wiped off the water from our bodies before putting our clothes back on.

'Youre such a bad student' I said to amidst loud laughter as we were walking back to the house.
'And you're such a sexy teacher' he whispered in my ear.

I spanked him on the butt and ran without stopping until I got to the front door.

In the evening, we had dinner and shared one final deep kiss when we were alone in the room before I finally let him go.
I wished he could stay the night me.

I went into my room and logged into my Instagram. I had recently made some posts so I checked the likes to see that it was already a million.



I saw on my timeline that Skip Marley had dropped a new song. I quickly purchased on iTunes and searched for headphones to plug in and listen but couldn't find it anywhere.
I suddenly recalled that I had left it on a stool in the sitting room earlier in the day.

I sighed as I reluctantly got up to go and get it.



I came downstairs to meet my mum in the sitting room. I was slightly taken aback as I stopped walking and stood there staring at her like the statue of liberty.



First I was surprised then gradually, it turned into disappointment and great annoyance.



I had plans to go pay a visit to Francis' mother at the hospital the next day. Now it seems impossible except she leaves again tomorrow.

What is this woman doing back home?

Her eyes were fixed on the TV screen where the news was showing on the big screen plastered on the wall.
Two of her goons were also in the room.



They only come inside the house for two reasons; one, if they have someone to beat up and two when she comes back with a lot of physical cash as was the case everytime she returns from Dubai and needed them to help her secure the bags.

I greeted her passively as I walked to where headphones were lying helplessly on the stool and grabbed it and was about to head back upstairs when she ordered me to sit down with her eyes still fixed on the screen.

I sat there with a big frown as she kept watching the news till the very end.



The news finally ended a few minutes later before she finally turned to look at me.

She looked like an angry bear. I wonder what is going on.

'What is the meaning of this?' she blurts out angrily as she threw the iPad she had picked up from the stool close to her at me.

It crashed on the sofa seat beside me. I picked up the device and my mouth went wide with shock.



It was a photo of me and Francis in Abuja. Turns out that people recognized me and took photos.

It was on a blog and the caption read:
"Rare Photos of Marie Brown and Her New Boo"

I scrolled up quickly as I ran my eyes through the outrageous write-up on the blog with shaky hands.

"It's not what you think mum." I said in defense.

"I only wanted someone to accompany me to Abuja."

'Shut up! You little LovePeddler...' she spat out as she gave me a resounding slap on my right cheek.

This can't be happening right in front of those goons but sadly it has already happened.



I sobbed silently as I hear her order the goons to get Francis.
They're going to beat him up I thought to myself as I kept crying silently.

My mum on the other hand was pacing up and down the room angrily.

'If you mess things up for me because of this, you are going to regret it' she says between gritted teeth as she keeps walking up and down the room.
If anything happens to Francis, I'll never forgive myself.

Oh God! What are they going to do to him.

EPISODE 17:
🏃 ON THE RUN 🏃

Francis POV
A hard knock lands on my door jerking me out of my sleep. It sounded really urgent.
I opened up to see the maid who Marie had sent to call me the other day at my door.

'What is it?' I ask as I rub my eyes sleepily.
'Quick, get out of here now! Your life is in danger. The boss might kill you tonight' she says hurriedly in a whisper as she kept looking behind her to see if anyone was coming.

'What do you mean?' I asked surprised as I didn't get it.
'Call Marie in the morning and ask her that but for now get out' she says with a very serious tone as she handed me some cash.

I dipped the cash into my pocket as I dashed inside and picked up my phone and a random t-shirt and ran out of the gate without even waiting to wear the shirt.

To be honest, I didn't understand anything that was going on but I'm guessing that her mom must have found out about us or it could be that Marie told her.(I'm not sure of that, Marie knows how her mom is and wouldn't be so stupid)

I kept running as these thoughts occupied my mind until I got a little far off and stopped to wear the shirt as the cold night breeze was almost making me freeze. I discovered that I wasn't wearing any shoes. (shoot)

I took to the road on my right and ran till I got to a busy street. I stopped the first taxi I saw and asked him to drop me at an affordable and out of the way hotel.

After a long drive, he drops me off at a small but decent hotel called Green Rose. I got out and paid him after which he drove away.
It was a really nice place but my mind was too occupied for me to take time and admire the place.

There weren't many people in the hotel so I didn't get any awkward stares from anyone for walking barefeet as I was expecting.

The attendant showed me to my room after I had made payment.
I sat down on the bed unable to sleep. I mean why would the boss want to kill me as the girl said.

What is this really about?
I hope Marie is safe. She is not picking up the phone.

I kept calling her line until she picked up at the last ring.

Hello Rie what's going on? I asked worriedly

Listen to me you pauper, you better stay far away from my daughter or I'll make sure your goal digging ass regrets the day you met your mo.... The angry voice yelled on the other end of the phone.

WTF?! I quickly disconnected the call cutting her in mid sentence as I realized that it was her mother on the phone.

How come that her mum is with her phone and picking up the calls. This doesn't sound good at all!
I hope she has not hurt her in anyway. I won't forgive her.

I promised not to fall for her now, see the problems that I have landed myself into. I've lost my job and no hope of getting the salary that I've slaved for. After all the insults I had to endure, it was all in vain, a waste of my time (but not s total waste though since I got to meet Marie)

I spent all night thinking about her until I finally dozed off having the worst nightmares of my life.

I MISS HIM 😖



Three days later:

Marie's POV

I have been locked up in my room ever since the night of the ugly incident.



The goons that were sent to get Francis returned without finding him. Someone had already tipped him off by someone else.



When the goons returned without finding him, my mum was so angry that she threw her shoes at them. (That's one of the ways she displays her anger- by throwing things at people)



She knew that someone had tipped him off and her suspects were the poor maids.

All of them denied of course but her principal suspect was Lucy.

She fired her even after all the pleading from Lucy. (She fired the only maid that has worked for the longest time in our house) I cried so hard for her. I'm going to miss her so much.



Lucy was now gone leaving Glory (who I had sent to call Francis way back) appointed to oversee the maids in her place.



I lost two of the people I cared about in one night. My phone was confiscated by my mum who had also placed one of the goons at my door to prevent me from getting out. Glory had to deliver my food in my room but must be thoroughly searched by the idiot at the door before she could enter.



I was very happy when Glory told me that she was the one who had informed Francis to run and even gave him some money, although she doesn't know where he was at present and I couldn't thank her enough.



I tried repaying the money but she refused to take it back. She is really kind. I've been spending much time getting to know her and I must admit, she is a nice person but, I still miss Lucy.



It was time for lunch already. I heard a knock on the door and I heard Glory's voice on the other side of the door.



She finally came into the room carrying my lunch in a large tray and dropped it on the stool by my bedside.

You look terrible she said and I let out a little laugh.



She was right about that though.

My eyes were puffy. I looked like a widow.

I lost two important people in my life Glory! I said in a little voice with my hands raised in the air.

'Eat something will ya!' she said as she started opening the plates and passed me the spoon.



I didn't have any appetite at all so I just dipped the spoon in the plate of pepper soup playing with the liquid and the meat inside.



'I wonder where he is' I said as I kept flipping the meat in the plate.

'I hope he's safe and Lucy, she has no family and nowhere to stay....' I trailed off as hot tears came flowing down my face and some landed in the plate.



Glory covered the plates and placed the tray back on the stool as she drew me into a hug patting my back gently.

'Lucy has been working for years, I'm sure she has saved up some money.' She whispered comfortingly.



'Do you really want to find out how he's doing?' she asks almost in a whisper after a little silence.

'Yeah' I answered weakly.

She suddenly let go of me and sprang up from the bed untying her hair carefully. I watched eagerly to understand what she was trying to do.



She finally returns to the bed with a small Nokia phone with a mono color screen which she had managed to smuggle in as she was always subjected to a search before she is allowed in.



'Then call him' she said as she handed me the phone.

I hugged her excitedly and ran into the bathroom to make the call after thanking her a million times over. Thank God I had memorised his number.



Francis' POV

The day after I escaped from Marie's mum, I took the money that was remaining and paid my way back home only to be informed by one of the co tenants that my mum and sis have not been around for days now.



I quickly dialled her number and she picked up almost immediately:

📞 Where are you Victoria? I asked with a mix of worry and annoyance.

📞 I'm at home. She answered quickly.

📞The same home or another one? I yelled at her on the phone.



That was how I led her to tell me everything I needed to know.

I got to the hospital that she had directed me to and found my mum Hale and hearty. I bursted into tears uncontrollably.



Just when I thought it was over for me, God sent me an angel.

I love Marie so much.

We were treated like royalty in the hospital and the next day when my mum was discharged. Everything had already been paid for beforehand.



As I sit in the small sitting room going through Marie's pictures on Instagram, a call from a strange number comes into my phone and I pick up immediately. It was Marie!!



What Marie is that you? Her voice sounded hoarse and shaky like she's been crying. (Of course she is actually crying) My heart was shattered.



She filled me in on her own part of the story and I also did same. We spoke for a while before she told me she heard a knock on her door and would call me back later.



Thank God she is safe and sound. My mum has been troubling me to invite her over and I told her that Marie is back in America.(I feel bad that I can't tell them about it all)



I laid back placing the phone on my chest so I could pick up immediately her call comes in again.

I've really missed my baby!!

I only realized that I had fallen asleep when my sister wakes me up to go and sleep inside.



I had fallen asleep and dreamt of me and Marie kissing in the jet like we did before.



I stood up smiling as I checked my time to see that it was a few minutes to eleven and she still hasn't called me back yet. What could be the problem?

WAIT, IT'S HIM

Marie's POV:

I had gotten into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I dialled Francis' number and he picked up almost immediately.

We spoke for a while until a knock on the bedroom door forced me to get off the call to see who it was.

I carefully hid the phone in a tampon box and walked out of the bathroom after turning off the shower.

I opened the door to find my mum and some men standing at my door.

I felt like slamming the door on their faces but I kept my cool.

'What do you want mum?' I spat out angrily.

'Take her!' She said turning to the guys that were with her ignoring my question.

'For your father's sake, be a good wife' she finally responded icily.

What is she talking about?

The men came forward and reached out to grab me.

I tried shutting the door and going back into the room but they quickly grabbed my arms roughly and pulled me out of the room as I screamed telling them to let go of me.

Before I knew what was happening, a bag was placed over my head.

I kept screaming and kicking but the guys were too strong as they kept dragging me along.

My mum has finally gone crazy.

This was the same thing she did to me when she wanted me to attend Harvard.

*Five Years Ago*

I had wanted to attend school in Nigeria but she insisted on sending me far away from my dad.

I remember going to bed that night, then I was suddenly woken up by people carrying me shoulder high outside into a waiting car outside.

I thought I was being kidnapped. They placed a napkin on my nose which sent me to sleep.

I finally woke up the next night in an apartment in Boston. She had hired people to ensure that I attended school.

I had no choice but to go to school and get good grades hoping she would be happy after that.

*Back to the present time*

I was finally taken outside and shoved into a car. I heard the doors close and the car drove off.

I was only wearing my pyjamas since I wasn't allowed to go anywhere.

I had no idea where they were taking me to or how long we were on the road.

The car finally came to a halt and the doors opened. I was again roughly pulled out of the car and with the bag still over my face.

I heard the sound of a helicopter in the distance. This is not good at all.

Where are you taking me to? I yelled so they could hear me over the deafening sound caused by the helicopter's rotor blades but no answer came as they kept dragging me violently along. I don't think that they heard me but even if they did, I'm sure that they wouldn't answer.

We got closer to the helicopter and they made me bend as they pushed me by the butt into the helo.

They sat beside me and in a minute, the helicopter took off.

In a short while, the helicopter landed and I was dragged out and again shoved into a waiting car which zoomed off immediately.

The car came to a halt and I was again dragged out. I hope this guys don't pull off my arms from all this dragging around.

My feet hurt like hell as I was being dragged barefeet along what felt like tarmac.

We walked for a short while before we stopped and a door opened.

I knew we were inside a house as it felt warm and my barefeet froze as it touched the tiled floor.

The bag was finally taken off my head.

I quickly slapped him/her without even looking at the person.

'Thats for laying your filthy hands on me you pig' I yelled angrily as I saw that it was one of the idiots who grabbed me at my house.

'And this is for touching my butt' I blurted out angrily as I gave him another hot slap.

I raised my hand to slap him again when someone held my hand gently from behind.

'Get out!' He yelled and the idiot walked out with his head bowed in shame.

Wait!! That's  a familiar voice! I turned around to see if he was really the one.

Shoot!!  Of course it was him!!!

Episode 21

IN HIS BED

Marie's POV cont'd
It was Jude of course! I rolled my eyes at the realization.
So he and my mum actually planned this together.
Oh shoot!! My mum told me to be a good wife!! No!no!!no!!!no!!! What the heck??
They're going to force me into marrying him!!

I stood there frozen and mouth wide as I racked my brain about this figuring everything out in a matter of seconds.

He smiled as he stood before me and cupped my cheeks. I slapped him hard on the face. His eyes went wide with shock as he was not expecting that reaction.
'Dont you dare touch me' I yelled angrily.

I could see that he was red with annoyance and deep down I felt like laughing at the look on his face which was priceless.
I wish I could take a picture of the smug face.

'Dont do that again!' He hissed angrily almost in a whisper before he turned round walking away towards the stairs.

I was finally left alone in the room. I letbout the breath I was holding in and lay down on the cream colored couch to rest but I didn't realize when I had dozed off as I was so tired.

I woke up the next morning in a bedroom. I don't remember how or when I got here. Someone must have carried me here. But who?

I sat up on the bed as my eyes scanned the strange room I'm in.

Suddenly, the bathroom door opened and Jude walked out with a towel round his waist. He looked so ugly.

Shoot!! I'm in his room? He's the one who carried me here.

'Good morning baby' he said with a smug smile immediately he noticed that I was awake.

'What are you doing in here?' I asked as he sat down at the foot of the bed ignoring his greetings.

'This is my room, I mean our room' he said with a smirk.

'What is that supposed to mean?' I queried in confusion batting my eyelashes.

'I don't have the time for all this questions baby I...'
'Dont call me baby Jude' I snapped cutting him off.

He sighed as he slowly got up from the bed opening the closet which was full of clothes and picked out what he wanted to wear.

Is he going to UnCloth right in front of me?
I felt very uncomfortable.

'Come down for breakfast when you ready' he says as he took the clothes he had picked and walked out of the room.

'whew!' I heaved a sigh of relief as I got up to lock the door before going into the bathroom.

I didn't have any clothes except the pyjamas I was wearing.
I opened the closet and searched for something to wear. Just alot of ugly looking clothes in there. I guess ugly people only wear ugly clothes to match with their ugliness.

I went back into the bathroom and picked a bathing rope. It's better than wearing his ugly clothes. (disgusting)

I opened the door and went downstairs for breakfast. As much as I didn't want to, I was really very weak. I really needed an energy drink and some food.

Jude's POV:
I was already having breakfast in the dining when I saw her coming down from the stairs. A little angel so simple and sweet.

Barefeet wearing, a bathing rope.
I was lost in a daydream as I kept staring at her like I was under a spell. Of course I was under her spell.

Her long natural hair bouncing on her shoulders as she descended the stairs, her brown skin was flawless and glowed as the bright lights in the room reflected on it.

I could see how small and beautifully shaped her waist was as she had tied the band of the bathing rope around it.

My whole body system slowed down as I think about the fact that she'll soon be mine forever.

She walked down the stairs and stood opposite me with a frown on her face.(I'd never been able to make her smile) Her facial expressions quickly slapped sense back into my head bringing me back to reality.(She doesn't like me)

'I don't have any of my clothes here since you abducted me.' She said sounding angry.

'I'll get you new ones just come have a seat baby' I said with a grin ushering her to sit down. She stood still and gave me a look of disdain.

'Id rather die than eat with you! She said faking a gag

And stop calling me baby!' She yelled and stormed off towards the stairs.
So rude! I didn't even bother calling her back. She'll eat when she is hungry. Nonsense!!

As she kept climbing up the stairs angrily, all that got my attention was her big butts swaying under the bathing rope. I'm sure she wasn't wearing anything under the rope.

Episode 22

I WANNA PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE

Glory's POV
Marie was taken away by her mother's security men last night. I've started flirting with one of them so I can get some information. He has already told me that she was taken to The commissioner for agriculture's son. She's supposed to get married to him in a few days or so.

I had already informed her dad about it now I have to also inform Francis as well. I didn't have his number as it wasn't on the staff entry book. Maybe I might find it somewhere in Marie's room or on the phone which I gave her.

Her mum had travelled the night before leaving everything and everyone in my care.

I walked up the stairs and opened Marie's door. Thank goodness it wasn't locked.
I went in and started opening her books to see if she must have written it anywhere but I found none.
Then I decided to search for the phone instead but there was no trace of it as well.

I decided to check out the bathroom. I turned the knob but it was locked.
I went back to her bedside drawer and found a hair pin.
I'm going to try using it to open the door. (I'm no James Bond but I can open a door with a hair pin and start a car with some wires)

It didn't take me a minute to open the door. I got in and searched everywhere but couldn't find it anywhere.

I was about quitting when I opened her tampon box and found the phone inside it.
I took it out and went back into the room.
I sat on her comfortable bed and switched it on.
The phone came alive and I quickly went to the call log and saw the last call she made just before she was taken away.

I dialed it and the receiver picked up immediately.
📞 Hello Rie, what's up are you okay? He asked in one breath

📞 I'm sorry, it's not Marie speaking. This is Glory one of the maids.

📞Oh! He said and sighed disappointedly. But where is she?

📞Her mother took her away last night and I don't know where she is. I lied (I wasn't ready to tell him that Jude has her, he'll freak out)
Do you have time to meet so I can fill you in on everything?

📞 Yeah sure! He answered quickly.
📞 Okay, I'll text you time and location.

📞Thanks,Bye! He said as I disconnected the call.

This is going to be tough. He's gonna need answers and I better get ready to give them to him.

I texted him the address and went outside to inform Sam that he'll be driving as he was the only one to be trusted.

*Two Hours Later*

I got into the car and shut the door as Sam started driving out, we got to the gate and informed the gateman that we had to go get household supplies to prevent any suspicion.

We got to the location and Francis who was already waiting got in immediately.
He wore a hoodie and a matching pair of Nike sweatpants.

He looked very tired and dejected.

'You look like a widower' I told him jokingly as he sat in the car.
He only responded with a scoff.

He was still cute even though he was sad and frowning. I better not stare too much or I might start drooling over him.

Gosh! He was missing this girl so much!!
Nobody has to tell you that he really is madly in love with her.
So sweet!!

Francis POV
When I got that call, I thought it was my babe. But sadly, it wasn't.

'So you said you don't know where they took her to?' I asked as I finished taking a sip of the orange juice before me.

(After a long drive, We were now sitting somewhere which looked like a golf course. Sam said it belonged to Marie's father.They both kept looking around as if they were expecting someone)

'Actually, I do know who she is with but I don't know where' She answered after a little hesitation.

I looked at her with a curious expression indicating that she had to continue

'The Commissioner for agriculture's son has her but we don't know where he is holding her' Sam said after a short silence

I buried my face in my palm as I cussed repeatedly under my breath.
That idiot!! I remember him from the other day when he held her hand.

His face was so ripe for a punch I thought as I clenched my fist.
I'm going to lose it if I don't find Marie. (What has this girl done to me? I've never felt this way about any girl before)

The next minute, I saw cars driving into the place and a few security men stepped out of the car and Marie's father also stepped out.

What Guess it's about darn time.

Francis POV cont'd
I sat there with the greatest surprised look ever.

He approached our table and we all stood up taking turns to give him a handshake and mutter some greetings.

I felt very nervous seeing him again like this.

To worsen matters, Sam and Glory had to leave and give us some privacy as he came to see me.
What? Me?

'Marie is a very sweet girl you know, always putting others first. She'd sacrifice anything to see her old man happy.' He said and squeezed a small smile making the little wrinkles on his ageing face stand out.

He had snow white beards covering half of his face and a completely shaved head.

He went on to explain how he committed crimes when he was younger and his wife blackmailing him for years and using Marie to get what she wants anytime.

This time around, she wanted to be a part of the first family of the state, up her status and be the brain behind the planning of all social functions in the state.

So that translates to more money and power in the process she gets to hurt Marie's father. Her goal was to become richer and more relevant than him.
That's crazy!!
I don't know how being rich works!!

He explained how he had secretly hired some maids to keep an eye on Marie and Glory happened to be one of them. She was actually one of the best undercover spies he has ever hired.

He knows I was a gateman and he didn't blame me for lying to him. He didn't judge me. That was a relief even though I still felt embarrassed.

He rounded up the talk with some words of wisdom and inspiration.
He was troubled about the situation but he did his best to conceal that.

I promised I'll do my best to get her back.
After our long discussion, he got up to leave as he put on his hat and walks away with Sam and Glory beside him looking serious. I didn't know what they were talking about.

I would have never thought that Davis Brown of all people is a former drug dealer.

Sam and Glory soon returned to the table after he left and we laid down some plans.

We are supposed to get a hold of the evidence which is in a flash drive.(Location unknown)
And we also had to dig up some dirt on Marie's mum as well.

But first, we have to get Marie into the plan since she is an insider.
'How on Earth do we find her?' I asked in frustration as I ran my fingers through my slightly grown hair.

Jude's father has houses in so many locations, which one is she being held at.

'She's getting married within a week or so. We'll find a way to get into her reception' Sam said with a sigh.

I scoffed angrily at the thought of Marie getting married to someone else who she didn't even love. He's going to touch her before I do.

I felt like screaming or going crazy but I stayed put and only managed to nod.

Let's get this done with before I punch somebody.

After we perfected our plans, We all got into the car and they dropped me off on the main road as my house was located on a sub street.

As I was about getting down from the car, Glory told me to hold on. She took out an envelope full of cash from the glovebox and handed it to me.

It was from Marie's dad (shoot! This man is full of surprises). He didn't even mention it or at least give me a clue so I could have thanked him properly.

I mean, I was out of work and the house rent was due so I had to accept it.

I received it with great appreciation. I felt so excited! I actually felt like screaming my head off.

I tucked the fat envelope into my hoodie pocket as I waved them goodbye while they drove off.

I walked as fast as my legs could carry me straight home so the rain won't catch up with me.

My mum and sister are going to be overjoyed plus I need to get them out of there just in case Marie's crazy mother comes looking for me.

Episode 24

Meeting Diamond

Marie's POV
I was resting on the balcony staring at the buildings and neatly mowed lawns and trimmed ornamental trees in the distance. It was all strange to me.

I would have loved to tour this beautiful place if not for the ugly circumstances surrounding my stay here. I don't think I'll ever be able to appreciate it. I'm too upset for that.

It all felt like a dream to me. The woman who birthed me actually bundled me up and brought me here to get married to someone who I don't know just so she can get what she wants.

It's always about her. She always thinks about herself not caring about how I was going to feel. What did I or my dad ever do to her? Some days I feel like she's not my real mother.

I didn't realise when I started singing 'redemption song' by Bob Marley. This is my own way of coping during hard times, I sing any song that comes to mind over and over until I get relieved. My life hasn't been perfect and music has always been the therapy.

I kept singing and wiping off the tears that were flooding my eyes.

I suddenly flinched and turned around as I felt someone beside me patting me gently on the back.

I turned to see a girl about my age standing beside me. I've never seen her here before and she wasn't dressed like a maid. She wore Gucci so that means she has some class. I stood there staring at her as a way of telling her to introduce herself.

'Hi!' she greets with a shy smile.

I shifted a bit from her and she kept talking.

'I'm Diamond, Jude's kid sister, you must be the wife' she added rushing her words a bit.

I scoffed as I turned away from her and continued wiping my tears. Nothing good comes from them but pain.

'Its a lovely song you sang there. I've never heard it before.'

'Redemption Song, Bob Marley' I replied coldly without even looking at her.

'Noted, I'll check it out and I'm sorry for what you have to go through.' She added and turned to walk away.

Maybe she is different. I mean, she just apologized for what her family and mine are putting me through. Maybe I should be nice to her.

'And it's a nice robe you've got there but don't let Jude see you walking around with it. Cause you never know. She said and winked at me before walking away.

I realized I was still in the bathing rope I wore earlier.

'Hollup, I don't have any clothes here, do you have any I could use?' I called after her retreating figure.

'Sure, come with me' she squealed excited that I was talking to her with a little bit of warmth.

'Thanks I'm Marie by the way.' I added calmly.

'I know.' she replied breezily.

I reluctantly strut behind her as the cold floor kept biting at my feet.

She seemed nice. I hope her mum isn't like mine.

I walked back into the house with her only to see Jude who looked like he was about to go out. My anger started to rise again.

He was grinning like the fool he was.

'Hey baby, I was just about to come get you. We have to see my dad and mum so I can properly introduce you to them. I ordered for some clothes already.' He explained.

I stood there with my brows furrowed and hands across my chest listening to him blab.

'Don't call me baby Jude!!!!!' I snapped

'And are you done talking?' I yelled angrily as he was standing there speechless like a fool

'Lets go' I said as I nudged Diamond forward.

'That was cold' she said with a little laugh as we got to her room.

I responded with an eye roll.

She brought her traveling box and opened it up. She explained that she doesn't live here all the time. She only came around to see Jude and also stay for the wedding.

I cringed at the mention of the wedding and felt hot tears coming down again.

I picked up a black dress and stormed into Diamond's bathroom to get changed. I was lucky that it fit perfectly.

How the heck will Francis feel when I get married to this man?

I got back into the room and thanked Diamond for the dress as I walked out slowly after wearing her stilettos which were a little too tight for me.

I descended the stairs and followed Jude out of the house ignoring all his stupid compliments.

He tried to touch and I shook his hands off making him to raise both hands in surrender.

Episode 25

Wedding Plans/ In His Bed Again

Marie's POV cont'd


We arrived at his father's house and judging by their reaction, it seemed like they already knew everything about me. His mum was just like mine, grumpy and proud. His dad looked like the crooked politician he was.

It was so boring and I felt very uncomfortable when his father kept giving me some lustful glances. Diamond's tight black dress wasn't helping matters as it showed every curve.

This man was having a feast staring at me. I tried my best to pretend like I didn't notice.

What is wrong with this old man?
It finally dawned on me that the real reason I was here was to see the plans they have made for the wedding reception.

I felt like throwing up everytime the wedding was brought up.

My mum was the event planner as you would guess. She arrived late and was trying to play nice with me.
I shifted away from her. I preferred sitting with Jude instead of her. I kinda detest her even though she is my mother.

After all the planning was done, I finally heaved a sigh of relief and I couldn't wait to get out of there.

These people are just plain crazy.
I sat in the car looking outside. I didn't want to look at the smug fellow who will soon become my husband in a few days.

He kept blabbing about one thing or the other all through the drive till we got home.

I opened the car door and walked out quickly. I got inside and saw Diamond watching TV in the living room and I took off the stilettos which were hurting so much and joined her immediately.

I wanted to ask her why she didn't join us in the white wedding planning stuff but I kept my mouth shut.

Jude came in later and Diamond greeted him passively without even looking at him for once.

She was watching a Korean drama which I wasn't a fan of but I stayed anyway it was better than going back into Jude's room where he was currently.

After some time, I started feeling sleepy and asked Diamond if I could bunk up with her and she agreed with so much excitement.
She behaves like a kid. I smiled and went upstairs to her room to change up. (I still don't have anything to wear)

As I sat down pondering on what to wear, Diamond came in to inform me that the clothes which Jude ordered had arrived while I was away.
She only forgot to inform me earlier.

She brought out bags full of clothes, underwear and shoes and dropped them on the king size bed.

I picked out the blue and black clothes and shoes that were inside and gave the rest to an overexcited Diamond who squeezed me in a bear hug.

We finally went to bed. A knock was heard on the door and Jude's voice sounded on the other side of the door.

Diamond was already fast asleep so I decided to go answer the door.

'What is it?' I asked angrily.

'You're supposed to be in my room with me not here' I said angrily.

'Im not coming, go back to sleep Jude' I replied coldly and tried closing the door but he held the door back and dragged me out towards his room as I kept on screaming for him to leave me alone.

What is he trying to do? Why is he dragging me into his room.

He dragged me into the room and locked the door behind him as he pushed roughly me on the bed and walked towards me licking his lips.

My heart started to beat very fast as he kept approaching the bed. What is he going to do? I didn't realize that I was crying silently until the tears started streaming down my face.
'Dont come closer I warned' but he didn't budge.
