South African President Jacob Zuma and a high-level African Union (AU) delegation are currently on their way to Libya for mediation talks on Sunday.

The group was granted special permission by Nato forces after the United Nations Security Council imposed a no-fly zone.

Zuma is expected to try broker a truce when he meets with Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in Tripoli and rebel leaders in Benghazi. Key on the agenda is the implementation of a ceasefire from both sides.

He is also likely to discuss the release of South African photographer Anton Hammerl, who was abducted together with three other journalists by the Libyan military last week.

According to reports, Hammerl and the three others were taken to Tripoli, where they will be released soon.
