Simplyleo:500K? Please next time don't rush to comment.... Solar Power Solution that will comfortably power 2 AC and Fridge will cost you nothing less than 5million ,the AC must be inverter AC and the fridge must be a power saver PWM.. |

Officialgarri: Not sure you know what you are saying. Globally, solar and wind are pretty much the cheapest forms of new electricity at the moment. The only issue they have is that they are not sustainable 24hrs of the day. |

Microwhy: I believe it’s supposed to be for rural dweller who need just lights and maybe a fan and radio. Though to be honest they should be planning or expecting even rural dwellers to want to add a tv and fridge. But I guess it’s reckoned they just won’t be able to afford a solar system that can power such 1 Like |

erico2k2: The Federal Government of Nigeria commissions the largest off-grid solar hybrid power plant in Africa at Bayero University, Kano (BUK) lol... Now I see why you are so confused and convoluted, must be the low IQ thing.. Hybrid in this case is solar/batteries/inverters, not solar and national grid. 1. These are stand alone off grid hybrid systems, they are totally independent, they are self contained power generating and storage system, they have zero connection to the grid hence the phrase off grid. Look up the meaning of off grid in the dictionary. 2. Hybrid off grid solar systems relating to what REA is doing all over Nigeria means sola panels, batteries and inverters, they don't need grid power to charge or recharge, they are stand alone off grid systems. Of grid means off grid, not on grid or taking power from the national grid to charge anything. I know I'm wasting my time on you because you too ignorant for your own good, but it feels more like community service. |

There are 2 options for beneficiaries: -Mini-grid which is a service provided continuously at an average cost of N1500 - N3000 monthly. -Second: Solar Home Systems which beneficiaries would own after 3 years at an average cost of N4000 monthly. Interesting! https:///NLc8AQeXsi |

We are Lithuim battery recyclers and manufacturers the govt should talk to us. The issue of darkness in Nigeria is so bad that you will not understand why even a 100watt solution will go so...so ... far. If Nigeria produces 10,000mw maximum and there are 200mill people. 10000mw/200mill = 0.05watts/hr for each citizen. That cannot even light a bulb, talkess of charging a phone. That's why you see people running around to charge phones. If the VP can see this info, he will concentrate on legislation, standardization and stop making cheap solar become very expensive for the common man. All the sellers as far away as in China, now and manufacturers have trippled their prices waiting for govt palliative purchase. The VP is not an Engineer but a Lawyer pls fix that which business men can't fix. For example there is no equipment energy rating in Nigeria. A fridge rated A+ 100watts another fridge same size and capacity C- 2000watts. A fridge is not a fridge in renewable energy. Also Accredited installation Engineers. Why is there no renewable energy listed company on the stock exchange? Traders/business men working with well funded research institutions. Just so much to mention let me stop here. Hope this fireservice govt will build great institutions and stop this approach to long term problems. |

This is very brilliant. 4,000 monthly is a considerable amount to own a panel. Its lower than our electricity bills. |

This pricing is possible most likely due to subsidies. There are different donors that provide grants and subsidies, thereby making end-users not pay the real full price. Simplyleo: |

plaindealer:I know that was what you was waiting for cos that's the only thing available to you on the internet cos that's ur only means of resource But even though you read it you failed to see where it must have stated that it feeds the grid to reduce cost, No wonder that country Nigeria is backward cos loads of you just go to school and go fru books no practical knowledge of anything you read in school.Something as basic as this you are here arguing, re google it and see the diagram of a complete system see if its not attached to the GRID Now to make you look more stupid, what happens when you have just 5 hours of sunshine or in the Scandinavian where even daylight is 2 hours? Just so you know, I have a Hybrid Inverter that cost me 4 Million at my Mrs studio in PHC during the day when there is Electricity it charges via the Grid on the background, when there is no power it uses stored power from the battery however the rate of discharge is more than the rate of charge from my Solar panel so we turn off some few consumables. Now at Night at night, its a different ball game as there might be no electricity to charge it and no Sun hence Im adding a wind turbine to the equation B4 the end of this year, So young man b4 U masturbate on HYBRID System, its just a system that has multiple way of charging your Inverter. |

Jhayphil:nah it's not, this solar ting is a SCAM, you might no get the ROI in your lifetime if you truly go on it 100% ask yourself this, why do the west FG always use SOLAR as back up why not the main power source? the way to go is Nuclear! |

The only way solar helps is for the Fg to put up this Energy Bill the enables us to sell power to the National Grid during the afternoon when the SUn is up thereby subsidizing our consumption. This is what we have in the West |

erico2k2: Your ignorant rubbish and whatever contraptions you have in your house or lying that you have doesn't change fact that the solar hybrid off-grid system we are talking about is a stand-alone off-grid system to independently function without any connection to the grid. The hybrid off-grid system we are talking about here is a combination of solar and batteries with zero connection to the main grid. The keyword and the word that your low IQ won't let you absorb into your skull is OFF-GRID. Off-grid means NO connection to the main grid for any reason including charging. See the illustration below for the difference between on-grid and off-grid. Off-grid means no connection to the power lines, what you have and just explained has a connection to the power life Understand the difference and stop acting like a 2-year-old with zero ability to learn, read, comprehend and understand basic English.
