Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has demanded an independent medical evaluation of President Buhari's physical and mental capacity to govern Nigeria, IgbereTV reports.

The Former Minister made the demand while reacting to the abduction of 317 students from the Government Girls Secondary School GSSS Jangena, Zamfara state.

LACK OF ACCESS TO BASIC EDUCATION IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM OF THE NORTH.

There are a lot of northerners who can not speak or understand the common pidgin english or the standard english.

If you speak pidgin english or the standard english to them they reply you in Hausa to tell you that they do not understand the language.

Any individual that is denied access to basic education can be used for nefarious activities especially in a religious sensitive environment like the core north.

It is the same lack of basic education that is making the fulani herdsmen to grow wild to be killing farmers in their own land.

THE PROBLEM of lack of basic education for northerners which has resulted in the present crisis in the north was planted many years ago right from the Independence period of the 1960s.

The late Sir Ahmadu Bello only gave scholarship for education to the priviledge children of the politicians serving in the government.

Many other class of parent had their children denied basic education either directly or indirectly.

Governors of the northern states failed to encourage qualitative education for their people.

Down south ( in the southern part of Nigeria ) the situation is quite different.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo promoted free education which resulted in many poor parent sending their children to school.

The kidnappers, bandits and other religious extremist in the north would not take to these vices if they were not denied access to education by their leaders in their region.

The problem of the north is much more beyond Buhari.

It is the seeds the north sowed many years back that has germinated and its branches is attacking

It's actually true, when campaigns were on for Chibok girls, they deployed police to bomb women, who knows if addressing it properly would have ended it. We really didn't curb this when we needed to.
