Earlier results on local TV gave the impression that PDP has been annihilated with the CPC and ACN taking over power. With so many results announced, that has not been the case, though virtually all the major bigwigs of PDP that contested electiongot whipped mercilessly.

However, Buhari may have been given a reality check, as the touted fanatical followership and surrounding hype has been torn to shreds, giving an inkling of what he will face at the Presidential elections. PDP contestants showed their influence in so many parts of the north is very strong, with the PDP showing monstrous strength. However, the power of ACN, and Labour Party leaders in the South West, shows that Jonathan should worry about votes.

As for the National Assembly, PDP is still in charge but not like the behemoth it was was before.
