JohnBullMySon: And what is 'regional deterrence' for heavens sake. Who is threatenong is in our sub-region and what is rhat a priority when we are atruggling with dastardly insecurity threats costing tens of soldiers and countless number of civilian lives every month. It is what I say, a failed strategic logic. If you are weakened inside, it is pointless trying to be strong outside. All, all, all great empires fell due to internal strife and corrosion. On the other hand just a simple piece of legislation called the US Second Amendment which recognises the right ro bear arms ensures a country like the United States can never be invaded and occupied. What then matters to them is to ensure the people remain 'united'. Fighter jets will not be able to save us from external aggression if we continue to allow felons shear this country along ethno-religious lines. |

I get you bro however US using those sophisticated jets is in tandem with their "no boots on ground" philosophy. It is still touted as a waste because each of those surface to air missiles are quite expensive, imagine using a missile that costs $100k to $500k per piece to bomb some ragtag, AK47 carrying guys. It is not cost effective. However in our own case, bandits and other terrorist groups are on our soil hence we require close attack helicopters to give support to ground troops. There are other more affordable attack helicopters that get the job done, Turkey seems to be making waves with their drone capability which was quite effective judging the role played in the recent Armenia/Azerbaijan conflict. Drones and all sorts of unmanned fighters are game changers for the future. Affordable both in terms of acquisition as well as maintenance. And as drone technology proliferates, it will only get cheaper. octavian: |

AwesomeStormy00:You need to know that Pakistan has been supporting Nigerian military for more than 50yrs and those people are educationally advanced beyond ur thought. How can u restrict ur faculty of reasoning to only EU and US and expect to know more abt the world. So Muslims should also complain for the soon to arrive 12 Tucano jets from Christian US? You need to move beyond this religious jingoism and fanaticism! 2 Likes |

Germi9:We don't deal with China cause the development is a joint effort between Pakistan and China and Pakistan have the sole right to sell the jets, the cheapest jets in China is about $30 compare to Pakistan which is 18%,so this is what we can afford. And how is Ukraine and Malaysia weak, point out a single black African country that is stronger than Malaysia. |
