It is not as if the South-east and the west don't also produce food items, but the Northern part of the country is somehow rich in some food items such as onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger Yams and so on and so forth. The Northerners often package their food stuffs in large quantity in big trucks and drive for couple of days before they eventually land in their destination.

Once the food arrives in the South, the next thing they do is try as much as possible to get them to the market where those particular foods are needed and then they will be sold to retailers before the food gets to we the end users. But now that the Fulani herdsmen and the Southern residents are no longer on peaceful grounds because of extrajudicial killings the Fulani herdsmen were responsible for.
