On a more serious note, i think the definition of "already made" varies. It depends on the eye of the beholder.....abi

a girl might see a guy as "already made" if he's well educated, has a good job, (a car might not be necessary), and at least hes doing good. For others, if the guy is not driving an E-class Benz, hes not yet made nothing, and for another set of girls, it might be somethings else.

On the other hand for the guy, he might not consider himself "already-made" until he has this, and that, and that, and that, and in the process of making-himself, he forgets to shine his eyes very well. At the end of the day, he might be over-made(wow, this is getting serious) and by the time he might want to say "hello" to a girl, his friends will tell him that she has no class, and by the time her friends talk to her, they'll yab her that shes a gold-digger. Like a constant phrase in a nija movie i watched yesterday(dont know the title). At the end of the day, things get too complicated.

     Some women marry guys with "prospects, but at the end of the day, when the kudi starts to roll in, the guy starts to misbehave: cheating, disrespectful, rude, marrying other wives. There's an adage that says (can't remember the actual wording), you can only know the true behavior of a man when he's rich.
     I'll rather marry a man that is already made or on his way because I'll know how he handles money, and his true behavior. I don't want to marry someone that will turn into a monster in the future.
     And if you want to go the religious way, put God first in everything that you do, and he will direct your path (he will give you your own spouse, whether already made or with prospects and an avenue to love and cherish each other no matter the circumstances).

I have promised myself any time i want to get married ,i would dress and behave myself as if i have nothing.Atleast this will help me to get a real lady that goes after love not money.

It is simply lack of understanding of what love and marriage is all about that is why many want to marry a finished product.The truth is that many who end up marrying such begin to regret that not all that glitter is gold.

in my opinion I think money , wealth and material things should not be the yardstick for going into a relationship because those things that last forever like knowledge , wisdom , love , success , greatness etc cannot be seen but are possessed by some guys and manifest with the aid of a good woman who can see far and wide not looking at physical things that can perish anytime . if the nigerian first lady was materlistic she won't be where she is today because our president is from a humble background . am sure there isn't  any other better person she could have settled for than the number citizen of nigeria , the biggest black country in the would . plz single ladies , learn from this .

I ain't a wife-beater and I detest any man that does that. I was only painting what the society tend to favour this days. I have been married for some years with kids.My wife and I met when I was virtually nobody. We grew together so therefore, for everything I have achieved, she has a hand in it and I value her tremendously. And for starters, I work in one of the best oil & gas companies in the world.
These days, a lot of girls in Nigeria are not patient. They want a readymade man and in most cases, these readymade men find it difficult to differentiate between true love and love for comfort. I have colleagues that are not married and some of them confess that its really difficult sustaining a relationship. Whenever they start one and the girl gets to know that the guy works in the oil sector, she tends to start acting LOVE. Any sane man can read in between the lines.
I had this friend who was working in one of the oil servicing companies in Port Harcourt whose wife left him after he was retrenched. She just couldn't imagine herself in the new situation. A little quarrel and she left after the guy could not secure another job for about 2 years. He was virtually a wretch, living on handouts until a miracle came. One of the oil companies he applied to for a job called him for an interview, etc and he got the job. The chap is in Houston now on cross-posting and the deserter-wife has been sending emissaries. Most women can not stay with a man after a job loss especially if she is now holding the purse. She would flog him to death with reminder that she feed and cloth him. No man should pray to be caught napping out of job with no fall back position.
