The management of the Ado-Ekiti Business District of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, has decried the rate of vandalism of its facilities by hoodlums in the state in recent times.

Its spokesman, Mr. Evbotokhai Oarhe, said in a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday that more than six substations in the district had been vandalised within the last two weeks.

Oarhe said the affected substations were located in Moferere, Olorunda, Agip, Falegan, Adewun Eripo and Ekeniyo.

The statement noted that the situation had thrown the affected areas into prolonged blackout in the last two weeks.

It said four out of the five persons arrested in connection with the vandalism had been charged to court by the police.

He said contrary to insinuations none of the arrested persons was a member of staff of the PHCN.

While condemning the unwholesome act, the statement urged residents, traditional rulers, government and other stakeholders close to PHCN facilities to ensure their safety at all times.
