Federal poly ... most states don’t pay salaries

Federal

State governor can be playing politics with state Uni affairs by delaying/not paying salary for not being voted for, delaying promotion and other entitlements.

Although it's possible too in a a federal poly, but it'll be less serious.

In addition, federal remuneration is usually higher than state own with less workload.

One thing you are sure of in a federal polytechnic is regular payment of salaries while it is not in most state universities.

Other thing is u cant become a professor in a federal polytechnic while u can in a state university if u have the necessary requirements.

With a minimum of M.Sc. u can rise to the level of a Chief lecturer in a federal polytechnic but not in a state university cos minimum requirements is a PhD to even get to Senior lecturer position.

Federal anytime anyday and anywhere

Both have advantages and disadvantages. In Federal Polytechnics, you can't be a Professor but regular payment of salary is sure. In State University, you can be a Professor but some state Universities have issues with salary payment.

Depends on your goal. On the short term, the polytechnic may pay better but carrier-wise, the university would offer you more opportunities.

Run to Fed poly. You will like the pay. Though states will tell you they pay 30k minimum wage, the structure is highly mutilated compared to that of fed. Also no delay in salary like state. After few years experience you can now move to a federal university where you need a Ph.d to excel. Choose wisely to avoid regret.
