What was their agreement? If it is a part of their agreement, then the authority is right otherwise, the authority is very wrong.

How can a teacher not complete the fundamental part of his/her job and expect to be paid?

He isn't really a teacher. Just teaching just to buy time until something better comes their way. There are lots of them in private schools. Most don't even care if their students understand what is being taught and that is if the teacher can actually teach well

Lol... There are many of such fellows... grin

Is it appropriate for a school owner to hoard his staffs' salary due to not updating their lesson notes
NOOOO!!!! It is never appropriate. It is rather very perfect for a teacher to be paid heavily for being lazy and lukewarm towards his duty.

It's not right.

I worked with one man that deducted 10% of staff salary in the of "Compulsory savings" and in his policy if you are leaving his school you pay him back one month salary.

Everyday you must prepare him atleast 4 lesson plan

The man Na deeper life pastor, very cunning and wicked.
Why bring deeper life to this nah

There are good people and also bad people and not everyone that claim he is deeper lifer is truly deeper lifer.

And I disagree that he is a pastor

How do you teach without lesson note? Always update ur lesson note, register and diary because approved schools pay heavily if supervisors come visiting. Besides, teaching materials ought to be submitted every friday.

Lesson note is different from lesson plan.
Nd lesson note is subject to change when there are introduction of new contents. Thanks.
I think you mean lesson plan.
Many commented without teaching background or training in either to know their right. Anyway, lesson plan is for the school as a statutory record while lesson note is for you, which is used to give a concise point to the students from reference i.e not to forget important points.
As a experience teachers, you can teach effectively, concise, explanatory to the understanding of the student's with lesson plan only.
Well to me, both lesson plan and lesson note should be obsolete. The central point is to teach according to Exam bodies marking scheme and effectively.

Yes every school has the right to withhold your salary for not having an updated lesson note unless it has never been in use with the school.
How do you teach without having those materials, it simply means you use text book to teach and give our notes to the students.

School owners will give you 3 to 4 subjects to teach and write lesson notes on, coupled with the fact that u are writing the lesson notes for about 5 different classes, tell me how that's possible.
Also by extension they still go as far as telling u to complete the next term's lesson notes.
Untop how much? Some of them don't even pay upto 30k..
They want u to do the job of 4 people and if u can't meet up they withhold ur salary, that's not a job it's called slavery.

That is throwing money away, and u won't do such if u are a proprietor,c.e.o etc
Re: Should A School Owner Withhold Staff Salary For Not Updating Lesson Notes? by Josywhyte: 11:16am On Jun 10, 2021
I once found myself in this situation. My salary was withheld because of incomplete lesson note. After about three days of drama between myself and the proprietress,I decided to pipe low. I waited for holiday lesson(August break) to start and after collecting over 57,000 from the pupils I deposited the cash in my account and left the school. She called that I should return her money and I told her to use my salary as the replacement. She started begging after two weeks but it was too late cos I bought enough clothes with that cash. But I told her something before I left her school. I told her She'll lose students and pupils for what she's done to me and other staff and it happened exactly the way I said it.
Omo since then the woman begin fear me

Do teachers still write lesson notes in this 21st century? Am a teacher in an international school, what we use is lesson plan and this is usually on already typed template. Yours is to fill the template, print and use it for teaching.
How then do your students get the note of what you taught them based on the lesson plan you have made?

they jot while you teach or you ask them to make the note themsalves?

Simple. Every student has textbooks which they come with for your lessons. The teachers job is to engage the students with lesson activities which include class discussion, questioning and class work. Their lesson notes is usually formed from the class activities the teacher gave. Also, teachers also send softcopy lesson notes to students email to support their learning.

Questions answered.

Still that could serve as the lesson note. Not yet neglected.

That's way fun kinda. I mean when the students are matured enough to follow through while you facilitates.
