~Says the major reason for the project is to save lives and boost economic activities between Abia and Ebonyi State

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engineer David Nweze Umahi has expressed optimism that the Iyere flyover in Edda, Afikpo South Local Government Area would end loss of lives on the road when completed.

Governor Umahi stated this while speaking with IGBERE TV correspondent shortly after inspecting the progress of work at the flyover measuring half a kilometer.

He said his administration choose to embark on the project which is executed by direct labour to save travelers from the agony of plying the road which has a dreaded terrain.

Governor Umahi while regretting that over 54 lives had been lost on the road, assured that his administration would deliver the project within the shortest possible time and in the best of quality.

He expressed optimism that the flyover would boost economic activities between Ebonyi and Abia States when completed.

"The economic benefit is that economic activities between Abia and Ebonyi State will be boosted through this section of Ebonyi State when this flyover is completed as the state.”

In less than six years of Governor David Umahi, he has completed twelve flyovers and five are presently ongoing but the Iyere flyover, though it is the seventeenth flyover in the state but it is exceptional because of the it's terrain and the distance.

All of Una dey mad especially Wike, Wike just dey use flyover dey thief money, N!@ build factories, give us 24/7 Electricity forget flyovers, these aren't even bridges they are mere FLYOVERS not BRIDGES. These things are almost useless. It's not as if without the flyover the people weren't already using those roads, in Rivers state for example Amaechi already made quality roads, dualized all the roads and made them 3 lanes. Wike used operation zero pot hole (there was no pot hole on those roads) and flyovers at every T-junction to steal money to build his house at Mile 3 area. House that have church, ATM, etc etc inside.

I'd prefer we have Jobs spend all that money to give young people Jobs Please. Pay salaries, Pensions.

Even if you use that money invest in state owned SOLAR FARM or GAS TURBINE or WIND MILLS it will be more useful than a few flyovers.

Jobs and electricity please. If you do just this 2 in this 4 years of your second term in office Nigeria as a whole will never forget you even though you did it only for your state.

Do you know how Much Chime stole that Ugwuanyi covered for him?
Sullivan wanted to go to Senate and make Ugwuanyi the Governor. Ekweremadu and Sullivan are from the same zone, Sullivan wanted Ekweremadu to give up his seat and won't give him the Governorship ticket. President Jonathan came in and asked Sullivan to choose between installing a Governor and forgetting about his Senate ambition or going to the Senate and leave Ekweremadu to be Governor?

Sullivan chose to install Ugwuanyi and forfeit his Senate ambition in the hope that if Goodluck wins he will make him a minister.

Finally revenues generated from Stone bases in the state is enough to do the Job and still have reserves if well managed
