Yesterday March 8, 2021 the O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation flagged off its 34th Free Medical Mission, in the ancient city of Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.

A large crowd was seen patiently waiting to receive treatment from a team of 83 medical and 57 non-medical volunteers. The health services being offered include general medical services, surgeries, dental care, pediatric care, physiotherapy and optometric care and surgeries. There is also a standard laboratory and pharmacy on-site.

The Isiokpo Free Medical Mission is being held at the Adanta Primary Healthcare Center in partnership with the Ogbakor Ikwerre, USA/Canada an NGO of Ikwerre people residing in the diaspora.

Since 2005 the Foundation has taken healthcare to the grassroots through its Free Medical Missions in communities across the Niger Delta in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River and Rivers State. Over 128,000 people have benefitted to date.

In a statement issued by the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr. Mrs. Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs, she commended its volunteers, Ogbakor Ikwerre USA/Canada and the Ikwerre Local Government Council for partnering with the Foundation to provide health information and care to families. She gave assurances of the continued support of the O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation in implementing sustainable interventions that enhance the quality of life of under-served persons at the community level.

A young mother expressed gratitude to the Foundation, “I am going home with medication for my three children who have been very ill this period of corona. I also got treatment for malaria. God bless the O.B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation.”
