Do you want to know how to be a roofer in Nigeria? The government is now offering paid training for those who want to pursue a career as a roofer. You do not need to have your prior education to be able to join in the African nation. What is required is a high school diploma or GED. Once this is done, then a contractor can help you by giving you the right training and the right equipment to help you be a roofer in Nigeria.

You will have the opportunity to learn about the four types of roofing - metal roofing, cement roofing, shingle roofing and wooden roofing. A lot of your lessons will cover how to choose materials you want to use. More on the safety precautions you must take - shoes, protective gear like helmets and more. You will also learn how to do the installation of these roofing systems. The process will help you gain knowledge and skills in installing various types of roofing systems.

The second step on how to be a roofer in Nigeria is through a short course on basic requirements of a roofer. The training will cover insurance, grammar, how to use computer software and basic equipment. You will learn how to identify different types of shingles and roofing systems. You will be taught how to repair damaged tiles. A lot of your lessons will focus on protecting yourself during a storm.

After completing the course, you can start applying for a job. If you are selected, then you will get a job as a roofer. You will need to know how to tie knots, how to use power tools such as a hammer and a saw and others. In addition to this, you will need to know how to work with different kinds of materials - asphalt, clay, concrete - as well as with different heights.

If you are selected for a job, you will be given monthly wages, tips and other incentives depending on the amount of work you do. It is important to note that most jobs start off at about two hundred and fifty naira or about a dollar. However, this amount often depends on the experience level of the candidate. Those who have more experience tend to earn more money. For those who are new in the industry, they will be offered a job which pays between five to eight dollars a day.

As an aspiring Roofer in Nigeria, you must keep in mind that your responsibility does not end after getting hired. Even after you finish your official job, you should still continue to learn more about the industry and keep updating yourself about the latest technologies being used in the field. This will ensure that you always have a job in the future. Thus, you must try as much as possible to learn more about the things that you can apply to improve your craft so that you can stand out among your peers.
