The attacks on six villages by bandits have left scores of villagers killed in Zamfara State, the government said on Friday.

Mr Jamilu Magaji, who is the press secretary to the state governor, confirmed in a statement that the attacks were carried out in two Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

Villages, where scores of people were killed by the bandits, included Damaga, Jihiya, Shandame, Gidan Runji and Daki Hudu all in Maradun LGA, while the sixth village that came under attack was Kizara in Tsafe LGA.

Magaji explained that the state governor, Bello Matawalle, had to cancel his official engagements in Sokoto State because of the attacks.

According to him, the governor immediately returned to Zamfara to sympathise with the victims of the attacks in Maradun and Tsafe LGAs.

Governor Matawalle also appealed to Islamic scholars in all parts of the state to intensify prayers for the return of peace and harmony in the state.

I personally asked how many would die, be maimed or kidnapped in the condemnable 2months Buhari has given them when it should be 2 hours.

Nigeria is in serious trouble under Buhari who is very compromised and unable/unwilling to do the right thing. A state of emergency should be declared on insecurity with the first prong approach being to directly storm all the known hideouts of Fulani bandits where Gumi keeps meeting them with government officials regularly.

Secondly a task force must be convened to immediately find and 'neutralize' every damn foreign Fulani operating in Nigeria.

Registration of all Fulani herdsmen across Nigeria should be compulsory and completed within a week. If they can attempt to push 2 weeks deadline NIN forced registration on millions of innocent Nigerians why not do same with Fulanis who are actually killing, maiming, kidnapping and destroying farms and lives?

A hotline should be set up to report any Fulani seen with any rifle so such person can be immediately taken down.

A rigorous take down of all sponsors of terror, however highly placed must begin with urgent emphasis on using a task force that reports to the Presidency alone to work on stopping importation of guns illegally into Nigeria and taking and destroying as much weapons from the streets as possible.

In short full war should be declared on criminal Fulanis so Nigeria can be safe and secure again plus prevented from becoming Iraq or Afghanistan in the near future.
