Can a bachelor Survive With A monthly income Of 60k Alone In Nigeria? by Codebite: 10:10pm On Mar 13, 2021
Good day everyone.
I'm 28, I recently started working as a civil servant and my total monthly income including side hustle is usually between 60-80k per month. But my challenge is that I would love to relocate from my parents house and stand on my own.
I've never done this before, even while I was in higher institution I schooled from home, during my NYSC I stayed with one of my aunt.
I've been thinking about this really hard, I know my folks want me around but I would love to branch out and stand on my own.

My only longing concern right now is basically if my monthly take home will be enough to cater for my needs as a single guy.

So people of God, please I need your advice, do you think with the present state of things in Nigeria I'm not making a grave mistake?

Also like how much do you think would be enough to spend on feeding? I'm a terrible cook but I'd love to hone my cooking skills as well.
And for a guy moving out for the first time, what and what should I prepare myself for or against?

Thanks to everyone

Yes and set your priorities right, some married couples are on that amount monthly.

Buy food stuffs and groceries in bulk and avoid urgent 2k girlfriends and avoid always going to beer parlour to drink beer and pepper soup.

Well it depends. But I'd suggest you look around sha.
Wo let's say you're doing 1:0:1 formation that means you'll be spending approximately 600-800niara per day on food only o. Which means by the end of each month food alone would have gulped like 20k leaving you with 40k.
House rent is also there
Transportation is also there.

Clothing too.
Tithing too if you're a christian
