The project was awarded for N600 million in 2010 when the naira was still somewhat strong against the dollar. Redeemed Christian Churh of God executed that same project when naira had crashed for N188 million from 2016-2019.

There are government agencies such as Bureau for Public Procurement, that do catch some inflated projects. However, they are still government agency and will likely be riddled by the same corruption they were created to help prevent. And even when they catch public officers like Babatunde 'Inflated Projects' Fashola there are no consequencies.
