ASMATA Calls on Buhari to Retain Ikonne

The Chairman of Abia State Amalgamated Traders Association, Chief Lucky Akubueze, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore the contrived publication by an “unknown Ariaria International Market stakeholder” calling for Paul Ikonne the Executive Secretary of National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), to be removed from office.

Addressing newsmen in Aba on Monday, Chief Akubueze described the publication as political mischief sponsored by those who do not wish the President and Abia traders well as Prince Ikonne whom he described as one of those who brought the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Abia State is one of the best representatives of the party and the President in the state.

He further described Prince Ikonne as one of only few credible politicians in APC in Abia State with very large following and commitment to the party and expressed appreciation to the President for approving Ariaria Independent Power project which has helped to imporve business activities in the market. While appealing to the President to extend the IPP to other key markets in Abia State, Chief Akubueze assured him of the unflinching support of the people.
