It is just the work of bloggers and clickbait. There are many and sound economists in Yoruba land. Also, we all know having our currency at par with the dollar as a new nation will not be economically wise since we are not an exporting nation yet. Even China currency, despite being an economical giant for long, is not at par with the USD and they are doing far well.

It also won't encourage Direct Foreign Investment.
