Create refineries you won't
When oil prices crashed why didn't you make a significant drop in the price of oil as well?

THIS VERY MINISTER OF FINANCE, NEEDS TO BE LAID OFF ASAP- She is obviously carrying out the assignments of SOME WICKED ELITES, hell bent on passing the buck of hardship more on the masses

The CRUX OF THE MATTER is ever since this revenue generation strategy has been achieved, of what MASSIVE effect has it been felt by the masses? Rather, the circle of these ELITES keeps smiling to the banks, with the benefits

SHE NEEDS TO BE LAID OFF, FOR LACKING WIDER ALTERNATIVES TO SOLVE THIS PROLONGED FUEL ISSUE

How many times will govt remove subsidy and still come back after two to 3 months later that we shall remove subsidy. This national embarrassment is getting out of Hands. Killing subsidy on petrol is like killing Shekau of Bo--ko haram on the battle fields. Our own subsidy is a cat with 9lives.

Refused? Did they hike it or not?
Was that not when we heard of the subsidy scandal in her very first budget when subsidy quadrupled overnight

It might be convenient for some of you to forget but it is fresh in our memory like yesterday
She did not have any new ideas or skill
She presided over the greatest oil boom in our history and did not diversify the economy , did not save for the rainy day and the moment oil price crashed all the hype was dismantled
She went aborrowing to pay salaries

It's obvious that this current government is incompetent, this is the same thing GEJ proposed and the same group of APC that is incharge of the helm of power kicked against it,had it been that they allowed GEJ to implement that by now, fuel price will be #50-80 Naira. Now,there is money to pay all the sanetors,Reps member, all the ministers, all the ambassadors etc but no money to subsidize. You people are not serious,, because their tenure is about to end, they are looking for a way to loot country dry.

double-edged sword

Indeed double-edged sword

Increase in barrel of oil is a problem
Decrease in barrel of oil is also a problem to foreign reserve

I doubt there will be anytime Nigerians will enjoy good life. They will continue to live their suffering and smiling lifestyle

Finally, someone is facing the truth of the subsidy charade

Eventually, the subsidy must go, or Nigeria keeps on spending millions on nothing but waste.

Indeed it was foolish of the APC to oppose GEJ's subsidy removal, but the thing was opposed by most Nigerians too as well.

The problem with subsidy removal is that at the end of the day, people don't see the long term benefits. All they see is 'prices went up'.

Even maximun dictators like Abacha never touched subsidy.

You budgeted at $40 and you sell at $64. The extra $24 on each barrel is for what?

All Progress Cancelled (APC) is a disaster and anti- Nigerians.

So we should keep on spending billions and trillions of naira subsidisng fuel.

We threw away 4 TRILLION naira between 2010-15 keeping fuel below N97.Plus lost billions in smuggling fuel as well. We are still losing money due to subsidies. And getting into debt due to subsides

At some point, something has to give.

As for revenue generation, we need far more than what we are earning to have a tax revenue sufficent for subsidies.
